of the 60s and up until today. The veteran haskept his masterpieces, having faith that theywould become more and more viable. Khumalosays it’s a great pleasure to work with such an open-minded personwho is willing to help and has shownhis experience.“I created this small theatre because I was tired
of being tossed up and down for booking with localtheatres that are turned into funeral venues while ar-tists don’t enjoy the privilege of working in them.I turned my garage into a theatre. The vision is verywild. I still have a lot to do,” says Diniso.

family member had to bury their lovedone in a decomposed state.Holding, preparing and storing a dead

Do you need acar or a bakkie?
Many a youth, has let themselves go. They ha-ve given up on life; losing is one of the easiestthings one can do. One day you’re your fresh, fun, breezy self, listening to all of your favouri-te music and hitting up the places you feel themost comfortable. The next thing you knowyou are down and out.
Be true to yourself. To be true to yourselfmeans to act in accordance with who you areand what you believe. If you know and love
yourself you will find it effortless to be trueto yourself. Just as you cannot love anyone elseuntil you love yourself, you cannot be true toanyone else until you are true to yourself.
Be who you are! Have the courage to acceptyourself as you really are, not as someone elsethinks you should be. Do not take action or pre-tend to be someone else for the sake of gainingacceptance.
To be true to yourself takes courage. It requi-res you to be introspective, sincere, open-mi-
nded and fair. It does not mean that you areinconsiderate or disrespectful of others. It me-ans that you will not let others define you ormake decisions for you that you should makefor yourself.
Be true to the very best that is in you andalign your life consistently with your highestvalues and aspirations. Those who are mostsuccessful in life have dared to creatively ex-press themselves and, in turn, broaden the ex-periences and perspectives of everyone else.
You have to dare to be yourself, and followyour own intuition, however frightening orstrange thatmay feel or prove to be.Don’t com-pare yourself to others. Don’t get discouragedby their progress or success. Follow your ownpath and stay true to your own purpose. Suc-cess is ultimately about spending your life hap-pily in your own way. Sometimes you makechoices in life and sometimes choices makeyou, so don’t you dare give up!

SEBOKENG.- The fourteen-strong, newlyelected committee members ofWildebees-fontein Evaton Community Organisation(WECO) are furious over a report that re-cently appeared in a local community pa-per not associated with Sedibeng Ster.Their anger stems from the fact that in
the report they are said to be hijacking hou-ses that are repossessed by banks and notallowing new owners access.Speaking to Sedibeng Ster the commit-
tee members say that an organisation thatcalls itselfWECA (whose leadership is un-known) is the one behind the whole fracas. They further add that they have formed aforum with different organisations that in-clude SANCO and COSATU to deal withissues of eviction and MBD Credit Soluti-
ons, a company hired by the Emfuleni LocalMunicipality to collect outstanding rates andtaxes. Many community members have recently
been threatened with seizure of propertiesand eviction by the company, with communi-ty members contesting what they term awrong and faulty billing system by the muni-cipality.“WECO sells no land; it sells no houses
and we are also not behind the hijacking ofhouses. Instead we are against the wholething of threats and evictions.“We are helpingmembers of the communi-
ty register as indigents and everyone is wel-come to our meetings, which are held onWednesdays and Saturdays at 10:00 in Zone13 next to the Technical College,” say theWECO members.

This was to mitigate an impendingwater crisis and skills development chal-lenge in the sector.VUT vice chancellor and principal
Irene Moutlana said, “Water is a criticaland scarce resource impacting on theeconomic and social development of ourcountry. As an academic institution ourrole is to conduct both applied and basicresearch so that we can avert a water cri-sis.”According to VUT’s Professor Ochi-

Accordingly, thediscussion aims to be a solution-orienta-ted platform for the stakeholders to eng-age robustly on water and wastewater is-sues.” Aoyi emphasises that the gathe-ring is not a talk shop: “The insightsgathered from the discussion will help
us understand the problems better, empo-wer us to identify the skills needed in thesector and the development priorities the-reof.” Water and wastewater managementis one of VUT’s key research areas. Accor-dingly the institution is involved in effortsto find solutions for the sustainable delive-

skills development for local government, and its aspiration to be a thought-leader inthe sector, LGSETA partnered with VUTto find innovative and scientific solutions
to water and wastewater challenges confron-ting the country. We believe that this partner-ship will further strengthen VUT in its questto become a leading authority in water andwastewater management research,” explainsNqaba Nqandela, LGSETA Administratorand Acting CEO.

VANDERBIJLPARK. - To extend a handto the less fortunate, to open the doors oflearning, to improve access to universitiesand to push back the barriers of povertyand inequality through education.Addressing these issues the executive
Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality(ELM) Gretha Hlongwane, accompaniedby some of her Members of Mayoral Com-mittee (MMCs), donated bursaries worthover R1 million so students could pursuetheir studies at universities.Hlongwane said she chose the students
to follow their dreams: “I am very passion-ate about education. I am from the `strug-gle generation’ that never had an opportu-nity to receive any assistance. The bursa-ries will pay all your fees until you finishyour studies. If you keep on failing, becareful not to lose the money. The bursaryaward is aimed at motivating techniquesto keep the spirit of education at the highestlevel.” The municipality spends some R1million every year on the programme: “Wewant the business sector to open its purseto contribute in assisting students with po-tential.“Today’s opportunity raises yesterday’s
failure. Our investment is not in vain asit has been scattered on very fruitful intel-lectual soil,” said municipal Health MMCCouncillor Sello Pitso.
Addressing students who received bursa-ries from ELM, Pitso said they must go outthere and make executive mayor GrethaHlongwane and the people of South Africaproud. “Use the money received in the formof bursaries very professionally,” Pitso ad-
vised. “The municipality has invested in itsown students. We have a caring municipalitywith its own council,” he said.FinanceMMCMabandla Ronyuza and Lo-
cal Economic Development MMC KhuluMalindi encouraged the students to be ambas-
sadors for Emfuleni:“Do everything to the best of your abili-
ty. Most of you are from poor families.Take care of your siblings also. Tempta-tions are there but be vigilant at all timesby prioritising your studies,” they said.

Some local development coaches com-plain they were not informed of the FutureChampions Gauteng Cup’s Coaching Cli-nics at Isak Steyl Stadium over the wee-kend. Coaching clinics are conducted bysome local and Johannesburg coaches atthe venue as part of the Future ChampionsGauteng Cup initiative - every year.
My answer to those development coa-ches is simple – as long as you associateyourself with “football politicians” youwill always be left out. As a coach, associa-te yourself with coaches, not with people
who are after positions. Local coaches havethis habit of always complaining as if theyare owed something.
Why does it have to be like this? Every timecoaches claim they were not aware of someor other football event programmed for thisregion! Yes, our football will end up run byJohannesburg people because, back here athome, the only thing we are good at is com-plaining and more complaining.
This thing of entitlement in football is themain reasonwhy this beautiful game is amessin this region. And as long as those develop-ment coaches spend their precious time in bo-ardrooms instead of on the field, they will al-ways complain that they are not aware of foot-ball events in this region. TOUCHLINEwould like to advise SAFCA members herethat they must start involving themselves inthe development of regional football. The or-
ganisation must also stop focusing on “foot-ball politics” and refocus on technical mat-ters.MrMartinMpholo, the reasonwhy SAF-CA was not aware of those coaching clinicsis because its members are busy with footballcamps in this region.
For example, this region doesn’t have a da-ta base for coaches so how can you expectthose organisers to even get hold of the coa-ches when a coaching clinic is programmedfor this region? For example,MrMpholo, youuse your personal email when you send infor-mation to the relevant stake holders becausethe organisation doesn’t have an email adress.
Before we complain, we should first checkfacts because even the Safa Sedibeng websiteis antedated, and I doubt it is still active. Tocoach ‘Manana’ it doesn’t mean that, ifyou’re a woman, youmust receive everythingon a silver platter. No, coaching in football
is not about “ladies first” like in politics. For example, women such as Ria Le-
dwaba, Mato Madlala, Fran Hilton-Smithand others worked their way up and theydidn’t expect favours from their malecounterparts. TOUCHLINE’s advice is –less talk and more action, or you will hatefootball. In this region the only thing weknow is to criticise.
TOUCHLINE hopes that developmentcoaches will take this advice in good spiritand not interpret it as an attack on them.Development coaches have become cry-babies ... !!!!
The future of South African football liesin your hands, in case development coa-ches are not aware. Stop this tendency tocomplain even when it is not necessary!Lets do this again next week on TOU-CHLINE.

every weekend in Sedibeng but graduallydied in the townships. The attempt to revivethe sport is welcomed bymany former volley-ball players in this region.Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sports, Zenzile
‘Ze’Manzi, who initiated the programme, be-lieves that since they started with the initiati-ve the response from township volleyballclubs and former players has been positive.Manzi says that, once again, hewas pleased
with the attendance at Boipatong Stadium, with the community also coming out to sup-port the initiative. “The people, especially theclubs, are now used to the idea, taking intoconsideration the attendance. Attendance im-proves with each and every tournament weplay and this serves as motivation to the clubsand players,’ he says. The initiative is the firstof its kind in this region with what it takesto bring back the good old days of volleyballinto the Sedibeng region. Menzi says the onlytime this sport is now played in the townshipsis during school progammes.
