Ms Sabinah Mpuru said: “I believein SAMEBA’s promises. It will freethe people. Things will be betterwith them. I’ve read all the parties’manifesto’s, posters etc. butSAMEBA is different. It is better”.

Mr Stephen Mphego said: “I dobelieve what they are promising, but we need to support them if theyare going to achieve it. If we keepon blaming and pointing fingers it isnot helping. Especially thoseparties who have been in the field along time can achieve theirpromises with the help of thecommunity. The smaller partiesmust be careful. You cannot beborn today and know more thanyour father. Look at America, thereis just 2 parties. We mustdiscourage this thing of manypolitical parties. We lose focusbecause of it”.

Mr Prince Shongwe and Mr Collins Zamba said: “Wethink they exaggerate their promises. They just wantto get your vote. All the parties just want to get intopower”.

Mr Edmund Maroga and Mr Isaiah Idio said: “In termsof campaigning their promises are worth nothing. Theyjust want to convince people to vote for them”.

Ms Dimakatso Ngwenya and Ms Deborah Selahlesaid: “We think they make promises because theywant our votes, but we don’t see it being delivered. Wethink all political parties are the same. None of themwill deliver. They just promise. We listen to them, butwe don’t believe anymore”.

Ms Elizabeth Motsamai and Ms Mamajara Majarasaid: “There is nobody who is like Mandela. All ofthem are making promises they cannot fulfill. We’renot at all being influenced for our votes by theirpromises. We do listen but we don’t believe anypromises”. With them is Kennedy.

Mr Elvis Nkuna said: “They justmake empty promises. If they getthe votes while they were staying ata rural place, they’ll move away intotown once they are in power. Rightnow I’ve given up on listening toany party, especially the rulingparty. There are just too manyunfulfilled promises”.

Mr Peter Mthombeni (right) said: “They cannot keeptheir promises. If they get into power they’ll say ‘Weneed time’, or ‘We need to settle into the work, we arenew’. They’ll also blame the previous government. That is what the ruling party is doing now and that iswhat anyone that may take over from them will do. Noparty will be able to keep their promises”. Mr PatsonSekgobela said: “I believe some of the parties will beable to keep their promises”.

Ms Rachel Swanepoel and Ms Caroline Wetdewichsaid: “We listen to the parties, but we don’t believeanything they say because of past experiences. Whenthey get the seat in parliament they don’t deliver. Theyare concentrating on mocking each other instead offocusing on the people”.

Mnr. Micky Joubert sê: “Nee, almalpraat dieselfde dinge maar na dieverkiesing gebeur daar niks. Ek kyknuus en volg wat hulle sê maar glonie die beloftes nie”.

Mr Leonard Lekhoane said: “Ialways listen to them but they arealways lying. Now there is the DAand EFF as well. They are all liars. They all just want to eat. If they getseats in parliament they’ll do thesame as the ANC. I read everythingabout them and listen but theycannot make their promises cometrue. E.g. some promise freeeducation for everyone, but there isno such thing as free education forwhites. Why do they have to pay fortheir children’s education? So theyare lying!”

Mr Solomon Thankge and his wife Elizabeth said:“They make empty promises. They promised us waterand electricity but in the end we did not get anything. We read the posters and then on voting day we’llchoose the one we like. We’ll decide for ourselves onthe day as our vote is our secret. Maybe the EFF cando something? We are hoping for something betterthan what the ruling party gave us. Today we havesomething to eat and tomorrow we don’t haveanything while we are with them”. With them isModipadi Bontle.
