This was further enhanced with the whole class singing the Cyndi Lauper classic ‘True Colours’; very apt! Way to go TA 10 students, Mrs Hudson and Mr Sturmer! Everyone was further entertained by our advanced singing ensemble under the direcon of Ms Pinakis with their versions of ‘Una Familia’ and ‘Hallelujah’. These were also the songs that the advanced singing group performed so well at the Joondalup Eisteddfod earlier this term. Certainly a very talented group. Well done also to the many students who received cerficates this morning. SOCIAL DANCE Tuesday was a wonderful day and evening for all students and their families involved in the social dance finale. Dalmain Netball Club

Pre Primary and Year 1 Net-Set-Go 2017

It was an absolute pleasure to teach the Pre Primary and Year 1 Net-Set-Go girls in Term 2. Some of the

girls had never played netball before. Their enthusiasm, fantastic listening skills and awesome

development meant that by the end of our 8 week programme all of the girls could do a chest pass, and

catch, most could successfully pivot, some could shadow, lead, land and defend and we have a few star

shooters in the making.

Everyone enjoyed learning the positions in netball, having scratch match and Golden Child, Rob the Nest,

Piggy in The Square and the Shooting Cone Game were amongst the favourite games.

We were very grateful for all of the awesome parent help and loved our

special thank you gift. We hope the girls continue to develop their skills

and we hope to see them back in 2018!

Dalmain Primary School are the joining

the PLASTIC FREE JULY Challenge!

Plastic Free July is an initiative of the Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) Earth Carers Program. Plastic Free July aims to raise awareness of the amount of plastic in our lives by encouraging people to eliminate the use of single-use plastic during July each year. It started here in Perth in 2011.

Next term all students and staff at Dalmain will learn about single-use plastics, and how they impact the environment once they are discarded.

Students and staff are encouraged to choose to refuse single-use plastic for the month of July or longer! Single-use includes plastic shopping bags, plastic cups, straws, plastic containers and packaging... basically anything that’s intended only to be used once and then sent to landfill.

Through the whole school focus students and staff will investigate solutions and behaviours to avoid products in plastic packaging, reducing where possible and recycle what cannot be avoided.
