YEAR 6/7 CAMP Congratulaons to all of our Year 6/7 students on their efforts and atude on camp at Woodman Point last week. All students had a great me and returned home very red, but happy from their camp. Tomorrow morning everyone will be given a snapshot of what happened on camp, the highlights and even a few entertaining camp raps. P&C MEETING A large group of parents aended the final P&C meeng for the year. Amanda Wood provided an update for everyone on the Nature Play concept we are looking to incorporate at Dalmain commencing next year. This project is a long term vision for our school and will require careful planning and implementaon in order to provide the outcomes we are looking to achieve. Amanda has been working and talking with students out in the playground and in a number of classes to obtain their thoughts and ideas. Students are quite excited about the idea and what they would like to see included in the designated play area. At this stage the area idenfied for nature play is to the west of the pre-primary building and bordered by the junior playground, basketball court and northern boundary fence. This area is central within our school and will provide easy access to all students. Parents were encouraged to discuss and put forward their own ideas for the playground. Amanda is collang all ideas and it is ancipated that a landscape architect will formulate a plan in term one next year incorporang a selecon of student, parent and other nature play ideas into the design. Parent assistance will ulmately be crical to the success of this project. It is hoped that parents may be able to help with various landscaping aspects of the plan, including earth moving, building and construcon of some elements. This project is now at a stage where we need to formulate a commiee to drive this project next year. If you are interested in being a part of this commiee please contact the school office or advise Amanda directly. Another school iniave that has also become an area of focus for our school is wastewise. Students have already been involved this term in doing some analysis on how much waste is created at school through packaging of lunches. YEAR 6/7 CAMP

Congratulations to all of our Year 6/7 students on their efforts and attitude on camp at Woodman Point last week. All students had a great time and returned home very tired, but happy from their camp. Tomorrow morning everyone will be given a snapshot of what happened on camp, the highlights and even a few entertaining camp raps. P&C MEETING A large group of parents attended the final P&C meeting for the year. Amanda Wood provided an update for everyone on the Nature Play concept we are looking to incorporate at Dalmain commencing next year. This project is a long term vision for our school and will require careful planning and implementation in order to provide the outcomes we are looking to achieve. Amanda has been working and talking with students out in the playground and in a number of classes to obtain their thoughts and ideas. Students are quite excited about the idea and what they would like to see included in the designated play area. At this stage the area identified for nature play is to the west of the pre-primary building and bordered by the junior playground, basketball court and northern boundary fence. This area is central within our school and will provide easy access to all students. Parents were encouraged to discuss and put forward their own ideas for the playground. Amanda is collating all ideas and it is anticipated that a landscape architect will formulate a plan in term one next year incorporating a selection of student, parent and other nature play ideas into the design. Parent assistance will ultimately be critical to the success of this project. It is hoped that parents may be able to help with various landscaping aspects of the plan, including earth moving, building and construction of some elements. This project is now at a stage where we need to formulate a committee to drive this project next year. If you are interested in being a part of this committee please contact the school office or advise Amanda directly. Another school initiative that has also become an area of focus for our school is wastewise. The nude food day certainly created some interesting data and discussion. Further details about this will be revealed at assembly tomorrow. Jane Ridley also outlined to parents some preliminary planning on creating a wastewise area on the old basketball court east of pre-primary2. It is hoped that this area will be developed into an urban garden area incorporating worm farms, compost bays, raised garden beds and a rainwater tank. Brett Cowey, one of our parents, has already been busy planning to make this possible. The idea is to utilise as much recycled material as possible in the creation of this space. It looks like 2015 will certainly be a busy year. ASSEMBLY

Our next school assembly will be hosted by our Year 6/7 students tomorrow. Please come along and join us.

Dalmain is this year supporting FOODBANK WA. By donating food we can help support this worthy organisation over Christmas.

Foodbank WA supports adults and children in need, delivers prepared meals, food hampers and emergency parcels. The food rescued by

Foodbank feeds on average 55,000 people each month.

Please leave food or donations in the staffroom. Let’s take on the challenge. Please check food is within dates. All donated food will be collected from the school on the 8/9 December.

Many thanks.
