Please join us in the undercover area. Coffee and tea will be available before the start of the assembly. MASSED CHOIR REHEARSAL Our school choir climbed aboard buses and headed off to Churchlands SHS for their first rehearsal with other schools on Tuesday. All reports were very posive with our students singing beaufully and displaying excellent manners throughout. Well done to all students involved. The big night is now just three weeks away. BUSY BEE Last Saturday aſternoon a number of parents, students and staff members braved the elements to be involved in the busy bee. Fortunately, the weather held allowing a great deal of work to be completed. Holes have now been dug ready for the planng of the fruit trees. The vegetable beds have been re-located to the Wastewise area and all pruning of trees and general weeding in the area has been done. I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who assisted with the various tasks. A great deal was accomplished in the aſternoon and has certainly moved this project forward. A special thank you to Bre Cowey (Tom & Jack’s Dad) and Mrs Ridley for their planning and hard work with this project. I look forward to the next phase of this excellent iniave. STUDENTS AFTERSCHOOL It has been brought to my aenon that some students who are remaining behind aſter school are at mes choosing to play in an unsafe manner. This includes climbing trees and climbing up onto, and walking along, the retaining wall behind the pre-primary. While these may appear to be harmless enough, a fall from these objects is likely to cause a significant injury. Students are not permied to climb trees or walls during the school day and I would expect all students to abide by this aſter school as well. The Ballad Of Pondlife McGurk

In this current economic climate, it hard to conjure up an experience that would give so much pleasure for only $3.00. Such was the presentation by the Barking Gecko Theatre Company of The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk.

The students from Year 3 - 6 were completely captivated and enthralled by the performance of Marko Jovanavic who gave a fifty minute solo performance in this play.

Marko weaved the themes of friendship,

loyalty, betrayal and forgiveness in a most entertaining way making the audience

completely involved with the characters and concerned about the outcome.

The teachers commented that it was the best

incursion we have had in a long time and they

were equally impressed.

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY IS COMING!

Dear Parents,

Our school photo day is coming! Approximately two weeks prior to the photo day every student will

receive a Kapture Photography order envelope to bring home. The recommended method of ordering

your photos is online through Kapture’s website as your payment is secure and can be easily verified at

any time. Alternatively you can pay by cash or cheque and return the provided envelope to the school on

the photography day. If you place your order online please DO NOT return your envelope to school.

Any parent who forgets or is unable to supply their envelope on the photo day will have five (5) days to

complete an order online. Late payment envelopes cannot be accepted by the school office or by

Kapture.

You also have the option to order a sibling photo package online, however please be aware there may be

a limited number of sibling orders that can be placed due to time constraints on photo day. We suggest

you place your online sibling order as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Kapture offer a money back guarantee for any parent who is not fully satisfied with their photo package.

Should you have any queries before or after photo day, please direct them to the Kapture office

on 9240 1714 or email [email protected].

All students will be photographed individually on photo day for school administration records AS WELL as included in their class group photo available for purchase to all families.

Should there be any reason why your child should NOT be included in the photo shoot –please contact the school office.

Please note sibling orders close @ midday Friday 4th September 2015

Dalmain Busy Bee - Saturday, 8 August -

A band of enthusiastic helpers braved the chilly conditions last Saturday to progress work for the Wastewise project. A number of important jobs were completed on the day and we now look forward to more planting and further development of the old basketball court, now known as D.U.G.- Dalmain Urban Garden. Many thanks to the following parents and staff for their hard work on the day: Nick Wood, Jane McIntyre, Craig Longbottom, Jenny and Leon McCain, Adele Smith, Dean Cantwell, Ryan and Zoe Hoy Poy, Don Boyes, Janine TeWheoro, Kirsten Perry, Emma and Dom Menegaldo and student helpers. Your time and effort is very much appreciated by the school community. Huge thanks to Brett Cowey who is leading the transformation of D.U.G., contributing his skills, ideas, labour and hands-on practical application assisting classes.
