The TA 9 students designed and created their own magnificent food costumes. There were dancing chickens, green vegetables, buzzing honey bees, wriggling pasta and some super-size future ants. Each group choreographed their own dance moves and shared some very interesng food facts that they had researched and prepared, as part of their performance. Congratulaons to all students and Mrs Kaluzynski on a fantasc and fun assembly. STUDENT REPORTS (Wednesday) I would like to remind parents that student reports will be emailed home on Wednesday. Please ensure that your email address is up to date as this will be the address reports will be sent to. Please update your details with the school office, if required. If you have any queries about this process, please contact the school office. AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATIC COMPETITION - REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW Registraon for our annual Australian Mathemacs Compeon is open to all Year 3 to Year 6 students. This is a fantasc opportunity for our students to once again demonstrate their applicaon of mathemacal problem-solving skills and the 5 Keys of Success, which includes confidence, resilience and persistence. Cash and book prizes are awarded to the top students while all students will receive a cerficate displaying their individual achievement. Registraons close tomorrow, Friday 28 June. Please contact the front office for more informaon. P&C FUNDRAISING DRAW Congratulaons to TA 9, TA 7, TA 1 and TA 4 for each winning a $100 wish list prize, at this mornings assembly. These funds have been raised by the very creave and innovave efforts of the P&C, in which our school community willingly supports. We look forward to the next draw in Term 3. YIRRA YAAKIN AND NAIDOC ACTIVITIES Yesterdays Yirra Yaakin performances, Djinda Kaajin, showcased and enhanced studentsawareness of the Aboriginal culture through tradional Noongar dreaming stories and contemporary Indigenous storytelling. Students will connue their Indigenous learning over the next week with special acvies planned around the school and in classrooms as part of NAIDOC. Photos from the Yirra Yaakin performance can be viewed with this newsleer.

ASSEMBLY Our final assembly for this term was hosted by our rhythmical and creative Year 4 and 5 students from TA 9. The TA 9 students designed and created their own magnificent food costumes. There were dancing chickens, green vegetables, buzzing honey bees, wriggling pasta and some super-size future ants. Each group choreographed their own dance moves and shared some very interesting food facts that they had researched and prepared, as part of their performance. Congratulations to all students and Mrs Kaluzynski on a fantastic and fun assembly.

KINDERGARTEN ENROLMENTS NOW OPEN 2020 – CLOSING SOON Please let families new to our community know that student applications for 2020 can be made through our school office. Parents of children who will be commencing Kindergarten next year (born between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016) will need to complete an Application for Enrolment form. Forms can be obtained from the school office or online at www.dalps.wa.edu.au. SOCIAL DANCE – NEXT WEEK Our social dance program will come to an end next week, with performances for parents on Tuesday, 2 July. Our Pre-Primary, Year One and Year Two students will be involved in dancing displays at school. Todd will put our junior students through their paces during their normal lesson times (Pre-Primary 9am–10am, Year 1–2 10am-11am). Parents are most welcome to come along and join in the fun.

In the evening our students from Years 3-6 will be showing off their latest moves at the Greenwood College gymnasium. This is always a terrific night for our senior students and I look forward to another great turnout of parents and students to this event. The evening commences at 6:30pm and will finish at approximately 8:30pm. Street parking is available around the school. TRIPLE P- POSITIVE PARENTING SEMINAR 2 The second of the free Triple P Seminar series will be on Wednesday, 11 September, 9:00am until 11:00am in our school library. Parents and guardians are invited to attend, learning practical and positive ways to raise confident and competent children. More information can be found in this newsletter. Please note that if you missed the first session, you can still attend this second session as it will focus on other areas of positive parenting.

Kindergarten 2020 Enrolments Now Open

Applications for enrolments of students entering Kindergarten or changing schools in

the 2020 school year should be made BY FRIDAY 26 JULY 2019.

As schools are closed between Saturday 6 July and Sunday 21 July, parents/persons responsible

are encouraged to submit their application before the end of Semester 1 (5 July 2019).

Application for Enrolment forms can be obtained

from the school’s website or the school office. Please bring along your child’s Birth Certificate,

Proof of Address and Immunisation History Statement when applying.

Seminar 2 Raising confident, competent children

The Triple-P Seminar Series provides an

introduction to the principles of positive parenting for parents of children aged 0 – 12 years.

All parents are invited to attend free seminars to
