UWSP

“Like the backpacking trip to the Porkies, you will undoubtedly face many long days, uphill climbs and some wrong turns thoughout the

next couple of years while you’re here at Point.”

-Kevin’s Letter

AWESOME-NESS

• Week 1– Setting goals and breaking down what we want to

accomplish in our college career

• Week 2– Learned how to get involved and see how much

there is to get involved in – This helps us meet new people and try new things

• Week 3– Helped us see how many new people we will meet

an make connections with while in college– The yarn game was a very good example of this

How has the course benefited us?

• Week 4– Gave us a break from all the tension from school and a

chance to relax in Schmeeckle– We got to see Kevin!!!

• Week 5

– Gave us a better introduction to Schmeeckle and other natural resource programs available

• Week 6– Continued learning about Leave No Trace so we can

apply it with our own future trips.• Overall

– We have benefited from this class by making it easier in the transition from high school to college its has helped us meet new people, set goals for ourselves, shown us everything UW- Stevens Point has to offer and get involved in, and taught us camping/hiking techniques.
