ASSEMBLY Our final assembly for this term was hosted by our rhythmical and creative Year 4 and 5 students from TA 9. The TA 9 students designed and created their own magnificent food costumes. There were dancing chickens, green vegetables, buzzing honey bees, wriggling pasta and some super-size future ants. Each group choreographed their own dance moves and shared some very interesting food facts that they had researched and prepared, as part of their performance. Congratulations to all students and Mrs Kaluzynski on a fantastic and fun assembly.
STUDENT REPORTS (Wednesday) I would like to remind parents that student reports will be emailed home on Wednesday. Please ensure that your email address is up to date as this will be the address reports will be sent to. Please update your details with the school office, if required. If you have any queries about this process, please contact the school office.
AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATIC COMPETITION - REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW Registration for our annual Australian Mathematics Competition is open to all Year 3 to Year 6 students. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to once again demonstrate their application of mathematical problem-solving skills and the 5 Keys of Success, which includes confidence, resilience and persistence. Cash and book prizes are awarded to the top students while all students will receive a certificate displaying their individual achievement. Registrations close tomorrow, Friday 28 June. Please contact the front office for more information.
P&C FUNDRAISING DRAW Congratulations to TA 9, TA 7, TA 1 and TA 4 for each winning a $100 wish list prize, at this morning’s assembly. These funds have been raised by the very creative and innovative efforts of the P&C, in which our school community willingly supports. We look forward to the next draw in Term 3.
YIRRA YAAKIN AND NAIDOC ACTIVITIES Yesterday’s Yirra Yaakin performances, Djinda Kaatijin, showcased and enhanced students’ awareness of the Aboriginal culture through traditional Noongar dreaming stories and contemporary Indigenous storytelling. Students will continue their Indigenous learning over the next week with special activities planned around the school and in classrooms as part of NAIDOC. Photos from the Yirra Yaakin performance can be viewed with this newsletter.
