Application for Indian Medicine Courses

Distribution of applications to the five and half-year undergraduate courses for academic year 2015-16 offered underthe Indian Systems of medicine began at various governmentcolleges in the State.

Form will be issued till july 24 at all the government Indianmedical system colleges on the Indian Madicine Campus inArumbakkam besides government colleges in Palayamkottai,Madurai and Nagercoil. Application can also be down loadedfrom www.tnhealth.org.

Applicants must provide a request letter along with a DDfor Rs.500 drawn in favour of The Director of Indian Medicineand Homoeopathy. Chennai-106 from any nationalised bankon or after June 29 payable at Chennai.

Chandigarh-based Worthwhile Gases Private Limited (WGPL)has entered into a Master Franchise alliance with VM Agencies tocater to the market demand for non-subsidized LPG gas cylinders inTamil Nadu.

The primary offering of this franchise arrangement will be "mygas", the non-subsidized LPG cylinders available in 6 kg (priced atRs 392); 15 kg (priced at Rs 981) and 17 kg (priced at Rs 1112) variants.The USP of the franchise mode is that ensuring delivery of cylindersto all its consumers in minimum time.

According to oil industry sources, bulk LPG requirement in TamilNadu is 1.2 million tonnes per annum, while availability is only 0.4million tonnes per annum. WGPL is looking to play an important rolein addressing the needs of LPG non-subsidized user segment out of1.53 crore LPG customers in the State.

"For Tamil Nadu we have tied up with an operational bottlingplant and this plant, with an installed capacity of 1,000 metric tons, islocated in Thiruvallur district. Hence, technically we are ready to launchcommercial operations immediately", said Mr Jain, adding that in thestate we look at setting up 6 Franchise for 6 districts (Chennai,Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruppur & Salem) in the first 3months of operations.
