Bio:

Jean‐Michel Blais is a 31 year‐old pianist from Montreal who pairs the melodic pop sensibilities of Yann Tiersen and Chilly Gonzales wit

the breathtaking technical skill of minimalist composers like Philip Glass and Erik Satie.

Blais grew up in a rural French Catholic town in Quebec with little to no Culture. He began tinkering and composing with his family’s

organ at age 9 and by 16 he was invited by a conservatory to train as a classical pianist. However, deep in the throes of teenage rebelli

he found the constraints of formal training cumbersome and left after two years.

For nearly 35 years, Steve Howe has been at the forefront of guitarists in popular music. Actually, simply referring to Howe as a just aguitarist is limiting. In addition to being a songwriter, he plays more instruments than just the guitar. Jazz pianist and composer Wynton Charles Kelly, famed for his"crisp, leaping rhythmic blues" playing style, and expert sightreading abilities, was known too as being one of the finestaccompanists in the business. Drummer Philly Joe Jones wasone of many musicians to sing his praises, stating that Kelly"puts down flowers behind a soloist. He never wanted to steal in.

He just put together the right things." Miles Davis called Kelly"the light for a cigarette. He lights the fire and he keeps it going,"whilst Cannonball Adderley dubbed him "the world's greatestaccompanist for a soloist." Kelly performed with a vast array of

jazz greats over the years, including Charles Mingus, BennyGolson, Art Blakey and Lee Morgan, as well as repeated spellswith the bands of Washington and Gillespie, and even playingbass on a track from vocalist Abbey Lincoln's That's Him!, afterregular bassist Paul Chambers reportedly fell asleep in the studiofollowing an extended drinking session. In January 1959, Kelly

joined the band of Miles Davis, famously getting the gig aftersitting in when previous pianist Red Garland was late for a clubdate. His work with Davis would eventually go on to be his bestknown, and included his exceptional performance on the song'Freddy Freeloader' on Kind Of Blue, the best-selling jazz recordof all time. This 4 CD collection, presented in digitally remasteredformat, contains undoubtedly the finest recordings of a criminallyunderrated musician.

Garland began his musical career studying clarinet and altosaxophone under the tutelage of Buster "Prof" Smith, who hapreviously been an early mentor of saxophonist Charlie ParkeHaving been drafted into the army in 1941, Garland began tolearn piano whilst stationed Fort Huachuca, Arizona, practicinrelentlessly until his playing quickly became proficient. It was

also around this time that Garland undertook a short-livedamateur boxing career, racking up 35 professional fights in towhich would include facing a young Sugar Ray Robinson in thring, although he would go on to lose this particular bout.Fortunately, his time spent as a welterweight seemed to havenegative impact on his performance, and after being dischargfrom the army in 1944 he immediately began playing smallvenues all over Texas. By the turn of the 1950s, Garland'sstature as a musician had increased incalculably, havingperformed with a plethora of jazz greats including ColemanHawkins, Lester Young, Ben Webster and Sonny Stitt, as welleading his own trio. Garland embarked on without a doubt himost famous collaboration in 1955 when he was invited to joiMiles Davis' band, which at the time also featured Coltrane,Philly Joe Jones and Paul Chambers.

Grosse [Thirty Seconds To Mars, Marilyn Manson], and Michael “Blumpy” Tuller [Nine Inch Nails]. He also worked closely with new band mates Oumi

Kapila [guitar, programming], Ashley Dzerigian [bass], Chris Reeve [drums], and Bobby Miller [keyboards], and former Filter bandmates, Johnny Radke

and Danny Lohner. Mixed by Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Deftones) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Van Halen, Mars

Volta, The White Stripes).

Ultimately, Crazy Eyes comes back to the fact that Richard remains honest. “I’m completely into this for the music,” he leaves off. “Being yourself is th
