[SEBELL] is the brainchild of 2‐time Juno Award winner, Greg Sczebel.

‘Prince of Soul’, Marvin Gaye helped to shape the sound of Motown Records and was one of the

greatest voices to emerge from the label.

Volume Two: 1966‐1970

At the start of this period, after scoring a hit duet, “It Takes Two” with Kim Weston, Gaye began working with Tammi Terre

on a series of duets, mostly composed by Ashford & Simpson, including “Ain't No Mountain High Enough”, “Your Precious

Love”, “Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing”, and “You're All I Need to Get By”. In October 1967, Terrell collapsed in Gaye's

arms during a performance in Farmville, Virginia. Terrell was subsequently rushed to Farmville's Southside Community

Hospital, where doctors discovered she had a malignant tumour in her brain. The diagnosis ended Terrell's career as a live

performer, though she continued to record music under careful supervision. Gaye was reportedly devastated by Terrell's

1971, it reached number one on the R&B charts within a month, staying there for five weeks. It also reached the top spot o

Cashbox's pop chart for a week and reached number two on the Hot 100 and the Record World chart, selling over two

million copies. The album became Gaye's first million‐selling album launching two more top ten singles, Mercy Mercy Me

(The Ecology) and Inner City Blues. One of Motown's first autonomous works, its theme and segue flow brought the conce

album format to rhythm and blues. An AllMusic writer later cited it as "...the most important and passionate record to com

out of soul music, delivered by one of its finest voices."For the album, Gaye received two Grammy Award nominations and

several NAACP Image Awards. The album also topped Rolling Stone's year‐end list as its album of the year. Billboard

The 'Let There Be Rock US Summer Tour' found AC/DC play

support to many higher profile rock groups and began in Aust

Texas' capital city, on 27th July '77 at the bizarrely named

'Armadillo World Headquarters', a music venue since 1970.

Supporting the popular-at-the-time-but-ever-forgettable Cana

rockers Moxy, in front of an audience of 1,500, it was just thekind of exposure 'DC were hoping for. The tour went on until 7

September by which time the group had performed in eight

states, mostly in the South and Mid-West plus a couple of gig

piece in LA, San Francisco and New York. On the 22nd Augu

they played at Cleveland, Ohio's famous venue the Agora

Ballroom (their third visit to the venue on the same tour)

supporting Mink Deville. The show, in front of an estimated 2,

people, was a triumph and the whole shebang was broadcast

across local FM radio - the results of which can be heard on t

superb CD.

At the end of 1974 Bob Welch, rhythm guitarist, songwriter and

by then musical director, was fed up with the legal hassles and

constant touring, and he left the group in December. Searching

for a replacement guitarist, Mick Fleetwood came across Lindsey

Buckingham and offered him the role. Buckingham accepted on

the proviso that his partner, Stephanie Nicks, could also join. The

pair was added to the line-up on New Year's Eve 1974, less than

a month following Welch's departure. And the rest, as they say,

is history, albeit one that provided for many more years of

internal struggle, but one augmented by the kind of success that

most bands can only dream of.
