VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

President Ayers ask for volunteers for some committees that

will not be able to operate unless someone steps forward. We

desperately need volunteers for the Beautification and Block

Captain committees. Please consider giving a little time to your

community. This will help to reduce the work load on our paid

staff and therefore reduce the need for future regime fee in-

creases as well as demonstrate your interest and pride in our

community.

Thank you to Yacht Cove residents who made food donations in

November. Please have a giving spirit and drop a few cans or boxed

items into the Care and Share basket at the YC office during December.

The next delivery to the SC Oncology Center will be April 23.

Let’s remember the needs of cancer patients and their families. If

you don’t have time to shop for food items, a grocery store gift

certificate would be a wonderful gift that would allow a family to

purchase meat or other needed items. We have so much to be thankful

for; let’s share our blessings.

Please remember that adults aren’t the only ones who suffer from

cancer. It is heartbreaking to see young children undergoing chemo

and radiation. Think about a food, snack or candy that you can put in

your donation that would brighten a child’s day.

CARE AND SHARE

By Judy Mulkey

Below are a few suggested food items for donations to the Care

and Share baskets for cancer patients at the clubhouse.

sugar minute rice jelly soap coffee

ravioli spaghetti sauces macaroni pasta gum

dried beans canned drinks peanut butter flour soups

powdered milk meat spreads quick grits jello spam

pudding canned ham crackers cereal chips

People ask for brand name products because they have

become know for dependability and service throughout the

years. These names assure us of quality.

We, to, are known by our names. A good name is a price-

less but perishable possession. There is a name which, through

the years, stands above every name for dependability, quality

and integrity. That name is Jesus Christ.

In this day of confusing and false claims, to whom else can

we turn? Jesus alone has words of eternal life. The Bible says,

“They know that know Thy NAME will put their trust in Thee,

for Thou Lord hast not forsaken them that seek Thee!” In the

name of Jesus you can be forgiven; you can start over; you can

be saved; and you can know the peace of God. Reach out to

Jesus - he is reaching out to you!

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH COMMITTEE

By Ray WallinOur third meeting of 2012 was held on Wednesday, March 7 at

7 p.m. We had nine members in attendance.

CRIME PREVENTION TIP: Common Scams!

•Advance Fee Loans

In this ploy, scam artists trick you into paying money to qualify

for a loan. Scam artists may “Guarantee” a line of credit or promise

to deposit money in your bank account once you pay an initial fee.

Despite these claims, however, you likely will not receive any

money. You should never pay money to qualify for a loan.

•Credit Repair Scams

These scams advertise on the Internet, on TV and even on tele-

phone poles, that bad credit can be erased and debts can be con-

solidated. Many of them charge hundreds or thousands of dollars

but do little or nothing to improve your credit. The reality is that

these companies cannot erase accurate negative information from

your credit report. With certain exceptions, negative information

can remain on your credit report for up to seven years, if you want

to improve your credit, contact a credit reporting agency or your

creditor directly. You may be able to arrange a payment plan your-

self – for no cost.

To obtain a free copy of your credit report contact any one of

the below nationwide consumer companies.
