Wednesday Evening Holy Hour
Every Wednesday evening from 6pm-7pm, there is Eucharistic Adoration at St. Elizabeth Church. At 6:30pm we pray the rosary and from 6pm to 6:50pm, there is a
priest available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Come for the entire hour or for a few minutes to spend time in the presence of Jesus. "Your faith will help you realize that it is Jesus Himself Who is present in the Blessed Sacrament, waiting for you and calling you to spend one special specific hour with Him each week." – John Paul II
Please pray for the success of the Saint Mary of the Hills and Saint Elizabeth Collaborative. May we open our hearts to allow the Holy Spirit to work within and among us.
May we intentionally seek to lead others to Jesus through our actions and build His Church in our community.

Disciples in Mission Workshop for Milton Collaborative of
St. Mary of the Hills and St. Elizabeth
When: March 4th and 5th from 5:30pm-9:00pm Where: St. Elizabeth church lower hall What is this workshop and why is it important?: (These are the most important questions) In June, we began our collaboration to make our parishes stronger and more life-giving centers of faith. As we have started to work together, we are in need of having a shared language and common vision for what we are desiring to live. This workshop will help to inspire us and think about how to grow our parishes. As every thriving family or group of friends share a common vision, so this workshop is meant to help us do so in our collaborative. The workshop is advertised as follows:
The Basics Forming Disciples in Mission is a one-day or two-evening session that will support all those involved in a Collaborative to develop a common language and skill set for the work of the New Evangelization. During the session, participants will learn how to share personal testimony and form disciples, develop an understanding of what makes evangelizing parishes, and discuss practical ways to evangelize in parish life.
The Audience: staff and parishioners
Content: It will touch upon such topics as The New Evangelization: Teaching the Art of Living, Discipleship, Journey of Discipleship: Drawing Closer to Christ, Evangelizing Parishes: Becoming Centers for the New Evangelization.
Please consider attending as an opportunity to grow in
faith and community. If you are interested, please
contact Fr. Bennett in person, via email or phone.
“ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37) This is our reason for existence and our goal for every-thing that we do every day. But how can one love the One whom he or she does not know? And one can only know another by having encountered the other. It is for this reason that the Lord calls us to Himself eve-ry Sunday at the Mass. This is the source and summit of our relationship with our Eucharistic Lord and in order to meet Him as He is in Word and Sacrament in the Mass we are in need of greater familiarity with Him. What are some of the spiritual practices you have to develop that familiarity with Jesus? Eucharistic adoration, spiritual reading, Confession, Devotional prayers, rosary...are a few of the many practices that we should adopt in order to become more familiar with God. This past Monday evening, the 10th graders, some of their parents and I talked about the importance of meet-ing Jesus in the Scriptures. It really was a blessed time for all of us. It only reminded me how important it is for us to allow God to speak to us in the Scriptures. As we look forward to the new season of spring, so we would should welcome “a new season of greater love for sacred Scripture on the part of every member of the Peo-ple of God, so that their prayerful and faith-filled reading of the Bible will, with time, deepen their personal rela-tionship with Jesus”. (Verbum Domini 72) A blessed week to you and your pursuit of loving God this week. In Christ, Fr. Bennett

SAINT MARY AND SAINT ELIZABETH COLLABORATIVE
There will be another 6-week bereavement support group hosted by a Bereavement Specialist from Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of MA. held in our collaborative.
It will take place every Tuesday night in the lower hall of St. Elizabeth from 6pm to 7/7:30pm, from March 12th until April 16th. This group is an effective and healthy way for us to acknowledge the sadness we have from losing a loved one and how to continue living with the memory of him/her. This group helps to provide a community in which we can help one another to live with gratitude for the gift of life and to live with the hope of seeing God and our beloved dead

My Brother’s Keeper Blanket Drive
In 2018, My Brother’s Keeper delivered 1,556 mattress sets to local families in need. Each delivery included a new blanket. During these cold winter nights you can “Give a hug, provide a blanket” by supporting the My Brother’s Keeper Blanket Drive. To make a contribution, donor cards and mailing envelopes are available at the exits to the Church. Thank you.

You may recall that the Finance Council set this higher goal in hope of installing air conditioning in the church.

So That You May Know By Harry Feldmann, pastoral associate
Probably It has been noticed that during the recitation of the Rosary, some of us have been saying: "Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus." this reflects the translation in the New American Bible (1986) Luke 1:28-35,42-48. In its 2015 PRAYERS FOR ALL OC-CASIONS The National Shrine of the Immaculate Concep-tion has this updated version. The Hail Mary is not changed just "thee's and thou's". We still ask for Mary's help now and at the hour of our death. What is the correct version of a prayer? Sometimes we may find ourselves forgetting words to an oft-spoken prayer. The important thing is that we are reflecting on the prayer deep in our hearts. Some people object to the Luminous Mysteries being recited after the Sorrowful Mysteries. They feel that they should be recited after the Joyful Mysteries because they reflect on the life of Christ. The Rosary is a private devotion and so we can meditate on any set of mysteries we desire and the need to contemplate the Mystery that has a meaning for us at that time. Our prayers should involve A.C.T. S. - Adoration, Con-trition, Thanksgiving, Supplication. A brief prayer reflect-ing these ACTS is indeed the Morning Offering. This was quite popular before people drifted in their prayer life: "O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and suffering of this day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sac-rifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my family and friends, and in particular, for the intentions of our Holy Father. Amen. Remember, prayer is our conversation with God and those whose intercession we seek before His throne. That means, listening by us is the other part of this conversation.

New Devotional Candles in St. Mary’s upper church
We have a new devotional candle stand in the upper church. It is on the left hand side as you walk in the front doors of the church. There are three rows of candles. The two lower rows of teal blue candles are able to be lit for daily devotional intentions. The white candles on the up-per row are reserved as our perpetual candles. They are reserved for monthly or yearly intentions.
At the bottom of this page, you will see an example of the order form for reserving these candles. They may be requested in memory of/in honor of someone or for a par-ticular intention. They are a great way of inviting others to pray for your intention and to let others know that they are being prayed for here at St. Mary of the Hills.
Another way to use these candles is to have one lit in honor of a recently deceased family member or friend instead of sending flowers. The parish would send out a card letting the family know that their loved one is being remembered with our candle here.at the church.

Edge: The Holy Spirit is ever-present in the Church and brings life to the Church. We, as the people of God, have the privilege of living this exciting life with the fire of the Holy Spirit that is present to us always and in very tangi-ble ways through the sacraments. But just like any organi-zation, the Church needs structure in order to operate properly and accomplish all of the things that have been entrusted to her. This past week at Edge, we learned more about what that structure looks like and how we fit in, be-cause we are all a vital part of the Church. This week’s Scripture: Go therefore and make disciples of all na-tions, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And re-member, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Thank you, Lord for your promise to be with us always as we strive to live the mission upon which you have sent us.
Confirmation Preparation: Grade 10: Saturday, March 9 @ 9:30 - 3:30 – Retreat Day 4 – Life in Christ
Grade 9: Saturday, March 23 @ 9:30 – 3:30 – Retreat Day 3 – Encountering Jesus in the Sacraments IF Gathering Boston - What does it look like to follow God and live out this faith in our relationships, at our jobs, in conflict, in suffering, with money? Faith can move mountains, but it can also change our everyday circum-stances. So, together, we are going to look at God's Word to discover what it looks like to do these things--not per-fectly--but in good faith, trying our best to obey God and His way of life.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your
paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6 Won't you join us on March 1 and 2 for IF:Boston? Check out IF: Boston online or contact Joan Regan @ [email protected]
