The Directorate facilitates the implementation of government priorities and drives a number of new initiatives. The Directorate is responsible for collecting and managing taxation revenue; managing the Government's financial assets and liabilities, including superannuation liabilities and investments; and providing advice to the Government and ACT agencies on the Territory's budget and financial management, economic and revenue policy, federal financial relations, and workers compensation policy. The Directorate is also responsible for Shared Services which provides financial, IT and HR support across Government. The Economic Development focus is on land release, facilitating business development, investment, sport and recreation, tourism and events, arts, and other government activity, often in coordination with the private sector, to increase the economic performance of the ACT. Position Overview

Responsibilities

The Workforce Capability and Governance Division:

provides strategic advice to the ACT Government on public sector employment;

supports good governance in the public sector by developing effective policy, legislative and industrial frameworks; provides workforce planning and strategic support to the public sector agencies; and

provides support to the Head of Service, the Strategic Board and its sub-committees.

Business Unit Overview

The Public Sector Management Group provides a central agency policy and advisory role for ACT public sector employment. Areas of responsibility cover activity based work, service-wide employment, industrial relations, investigations, human resources, accountability and learning and development issues. PSM also provides support to the statutory office of the Public Sector Standards Commissioner, the ACT Remuneration Tribunal, the ACT Joint Council and Human Resource Council.

Whole of Government Inclusion Team

The ACTPS is committed to growing its workforce and it being reflective of the diverse community we serve.

To help increase the number of inclusion employees (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples or People with Disability) in the ACTP. The Inclusion Team coordinates whole of government initiatives for inclusion employment, and supports the Employment Entry Programs and Graduate Programs by providing pastoral care, support, mentoring and assistance for both participants and the supervisors and work areas involved.

Duties/Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

Assist with contributing to the development and review of whole-of-government employment policies;

Assist with contributing to the development and implementation of whole-of-government projects and initiatives supporting the employment framework;

Assist with preparing briefs, submissions, reports and other corporate documents.
