CHALLENGE: HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SLAVERYAs you read this, an estimated 27 million people are living in slavery. Human trafficking is currently described as “the largest slave trade in history”. An estimated 80% of these victims are women and girls and 50% children, claimed by traffickers and forced into the sex trade. This illicit trade is quickly on its way to becoming the most profitable illegal activity in the world, soon to outgrow even drug trafficking. This is the horror of human trafficking: the sale of human beings for sinful purposes fuelled by lust and greed.  These sad facts often shock people, but mostly they leave them feeling paralyzed and hopeless to effect change.  The degree of evil involved in turning someone’s daughter into a sex slave has an intimidating influence that protects itself from being confronted. Traffickers have deceived us into believing that they are part of a cabal so big, so powerful, and so mighty, that we stand no chance in the fight to bring restoration to the lives stolen.  However, do not be deceived into believing that this evil is too large to be destroyed. Our passivity only makes it worse. We must not be mice, but lions.

CHALLENGE: EXTREME POVERTYExtreme poverty is another heart-breaking consequence of injustice. More then 1.4 billion people, mainly in Asia and Africa, live on less then a dollar a day. Traditionally, when we want to address symptoms of poverty, we act through Mercy Ministries - but these matters of justice require even more. We must respond to short-term needs, but also address the institutional causes that block access to clean drinking water or life-saving vaccinations from parents who want to help their children. It's not acceptable that every 4 seconds a child dies from the ravages of extreme poverty. We live in a time where we have all the knowledge and all the resources necessary to save lives. We merely need to unite and do our part. An emerging, global, young generation is leading the charge. All are welcome.

CHALLENGE: CONNECTING TO THE UNREACHED!

God is pleading for a new surge of committed, radical disciples willing to go into today’s most troubled nations. As relatively wealthy Westerners, the depth of need sometimes numbs us. Prostitution, child labor, civil war, oppression, AIDS, tuberculosis, and malnourishment threaten the lives of the people living in these countries. 80% of the world’s poorest people struggle for survival on a daily basis. Why do we imagine that we deserve so much more comfort than them?

What is the answer? What is on God’s heart when He thinks of these victims living in hopelessness? Only 10% of the population living in the 10/40-Window, a region stretching laterally across Africa and Asia, has ever heard the name of Jesus. Almost 3 billion people live in the nations or regions that are included inside the10/40-Window, and the majority of them are Muslims, Hindus or Buddhists. They comprise almost 50% of the world population and, although this is where the Church can engage the most unreached people groups, only 4% of all Christian missionaries live and work there. We need to go to the people that have not heard the gospel yet. Paul asked: “How should they hear if no one is preaching?” The Gospel is not good news to people living in the 10/40 Window if it is not being preached there. Our consciences must convict us that greater efforts are necessary. To show you the unreached we will walk an a huge map praying for these Nations and the so called “Omega Zones”.

The purpose of this conference is to further unite the body of Christ and to engage these issues with urgency. We must rise up.  We must engage.  These challenges are for our generation. We have all the opportunities, the resources, and the knowledge; all that’s lacking is the will! Our generation can rise up and shout that is it is not acceptable to ignore these situations. In a world losing faith, our example now can ignite passion for Jesus and his Kingdom.

Wait no longer.  Join us as we gather from all over the world to educate ourselves on the essential issues, learn strategic methods to

No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream. -Martin Luther King Jr. -Martin Luther King Jr.
