Youth With A Mission PerthYouth With A Mission Perth is an international community committed to knowing God and making Him known in all spheres of society with a strong focus on cities, youth and the unreached.

In a community such as this, it doesn‘t take long to feel like you belong. At our core, YWAM Perth is a family – a big, international, interdenominational and varied family – united by our desire to know God and to make him known in the nations. Together we eat meals, seek God, live in a variety of shared housing, and are constantly strengthened by the gifts and experiences of others.

Simultaneously, we value the individual. God left the ninety-nine sheep to seek the one lost, and so we too seek to empower, equip and show worth to each person, not allowing people to be lost in the crowd. Each staff or student is paired with a mentor and will engage with a smaller team regularly for fellowship and accountability. Birthdays and important occasions are celebrated by the whole community as we

aim to have productive lives of fulfilment; living, not just working, together.

We are a community made up of families, students, full-time staff volunteers, short-term volunteers, international visitors and those in transit. With over 30 ministries operating throughout the year and 30 training programs running over four academic quarters, there are always new faces and a lot going on. You can just as easily spend a lunchtime playing with a group of toddlers as playing a round of volleyball. There are quiet weekends of relaxation and huge evenings of shared events to draw us together.

We take community very seriously – God has called us to reflect his love of relationship wherever we are. This is some of how we do it.

Discipleship Training schools (DTs)

Classic DTS [AprilDTS, JulyDTS, OctoberDTS]To know God and make Him known are two of our core values as YWAM. A Discipleship Training School is more than an entry-level course, it is an adventure of knowing God and His heart for the nations. You will be joined by others from around the world and together pursue your part in the Great Commission.

The adventure begins with a three month lecture phase, a time for training, equipping, and discipleship. You will learn to know God more as you receive teaching on topics including: Character of God, Repentance and Forgiveness, Hearing God’s voice, Lordship, Relationships, Father heart of God, Fear of the Lord, Evangelism and much more. Other activities in your day could include worship,

intercession, small groups, work duties, sports, one-on-one discipleship, weekly journals, evangelism, fun times with friends, and adventures around the City of Perth.

Following the lecture phase you will apply what you have learned in an outreach phase. You will have the chance to pass on the transforming power of God’s love that you experienced through evangelism, discipleship, intercession, children’s ministry, working with local churches, dramas, and practical aid. In these three months you will be a part of taking the Gospel to the nations!

Dates: April, July, October Length: 6 months

4WD Adventure DTS [4WDDTS]The 4WD Adventure DTS is ready to take your passion for adventure to get off the beaten track and explore the nations. Part of your DTS lecture phase will be in our YWAM Perth base and part of it will be on the road. This is a unique way to experience God in nature, travel Australia and serve adventurously. Part of your outreach will be driving far north, ministering in remote towns and indigenous communities in some of the most isolated and beautiful areas of Australia. Your team will also head overseas, using adventure to travel to remote places to bring the gospel and community transformation.

Date: July, January Length: 6 months

Compassion DTS [COMDTS]Do you want to know more of God’s heart for the poor and needy? We believe God calls us to champion the cause of those in need and to be a voice for the voiceless. Compassion DTS aims to address issues of poverty and injustice in a world gone wrong. If you want to join others in learning how to respond and what your part is in the Great Commission, join us for this school.

Date: January Length: 6 months

Crossroads DTS [CDTS] The Crossroads Discipleship Training school (CDTS) is especially designed for families and singles over the age of 35. Are you seeking spiritual renewal, vision or a new direction?

This time will be a unique opportunity to know God more intimately, see the importance of His kingdom, and allow Him to redefine His purpose and plan for your life.

Date: April Length: 6 months

FrontLine DTS [FLDTS] The Frontline DTS will take you to the hard places of our planet. This school is aimed for those of you who are adventurous, want to get out there, love the challenge of sleeping on the floor, good old fashioned physical exertion, and are ready to leave at any time for a location you can’t yet pronounce. You are made to help people in need, those long forgotten in countries and cities you hardly hear about. This DTS is an adventure of knowing God more and making Him known in the some of the hardest to reach places in the world.

Date: October Length: 6 months

Media, Art & Photography DTS [MAPDTS]Whether you’re a graphic designer, photographer, journalist, a film buff, an IT whizz, screenwriter, or you just love creative communication and you are passionate to creatively make God known, this school is for you! It is not about skills or qualifications, it is about growing with God and letting Him use you as a voice to the nations. All experience and skills backgrounds welcome!




Music DTS [MDTS]The Music DTS trains and mobilises musicians and those passionate about music. You can be a professional musician, sound technician, event manager, or simply have a love for music. Come and learn how God wants to use your gifts and talents to bring His love to the nations. This DTS is an adventure of knowing God’s hearts and your specific role in the Great Commission.

Date: July Length: 6 months

Performing Arts DTS [PADTS]Performing arts can reach beyond cultural and language barriers, touching hearts and impacting communities. Each rhythm and movement can be an act of worship, a proclamation of the truth, and a tool to make the Creator known in every nation. Do you love performing arts – dance, music and drama? The Performing Arts DTS could be just your thing!


Sports DTS – July, October [July SpDTS, SpDTS]Are you an athlete or do you love playing sports? In every country people play sports! Come for a Discipleship Training School to get to know God and His heart for the nations. You will be joined by others from around the world and together pursue your part in the Great Commission using sports.

Dates: July, October Length: 6 months

Young People’s DTS [YPDTS]The majority of Christians made a decision to follow Jesus before the age of 20. Young people are the next generation that will lead a nation. During the YPDTS you will not only grow stronger in your relationship with God, but you will learn how to effectively share who He is to your generation! Are you between 17 to 25 years old? Come and join us along with others from around the world and together pursue your part in the Great Commission.

Art Evangelists School [AES]The influence of art on a society is incredible. Do you have a passion for visual arts? In the AES you will be trained to communicate the Gospel using visual art in ways that break all cultural barriers. This course is designed to release all kinds of artists into every sphere of society. Art is a powerful tool for evangelism and God wants to ignite your passion to use the creative gifts He has given you to reach the nations!


Birth Attendant School [BAS]Almost 600,000 women die from complications in pregnancy and child birth each year. Of these women, 98% live in developing nations. Come and learn how you can make a difference. You will be trained and equipped in basic midwifery skills, while discovering God’s passion and broken heart for those who are oppressed and disadvantaged. As you assist in delivering babies, you will intercede for them through prayer, worship, and proclaiming truth.


Bible Core Course – Jan, July [BCC]Get the foundation you need to bring the word of God to life! The Bible is foundational for all ministry. This course gives you a deeper understanding of the Bible as a whole and how it relates to us today. You will gain fundamental truth and practical tools that will profit you for the rest of your life.

Date: Jan, July Length: 6 months

Bible School for the Nations [BSN] Do you want to be mobilised as a Bible trainer, growing in your ability to effectively disciple nations? In the BSN you will be inspired and equipped as you study chronologically through the Old and New Testaments. You will discover God’s methods for discipling nations, practical principles of leadership, civil government, and economics. Understanding these areas of society is essential in partnering with God to bring transformation and liberty to communities and nations.

Cert IV in Christian Missions [C4CM]The Christian walk is not a sprint, it’s a marathon; what training are you doing to equip yourself for the long yards? To know where you’re going, you need to know where you came from. This school takes you through the history of Christian Missions and of Youth With A Mission, giving you the groundwork to build your ministry work on. “Running the race” is more than just perseverance, there are practical and essential skills and disciplines you will need in order to be responsible and successful. This two year course is designed for the active staff member who will run in such as way as to win the prize.

Diploma in Christian Missions LeadershipThe serving role of a leader is one that is often misunderstood. For those called to leadership in missions, the challenges are increased. How do you lead using influence rather than power to disciple your flock? How do you establish a successful team that is multipliable and self-sustaining? Are you willing to work yourself out of a job? This Diploma school

is for Christian Mission graduates who have been called to a leadership position.

Dates: Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct Length: 2 years Prerequisite: Basic Leadership School or Cert IV in Christian Missions

Children at Risk School [CRS]Children are the most vulnerable group in any society. Do you want to work with or on behalf of at-risk children? On the CRS, you will discover God’s heart for children and justice, learn about the complex issues they face, and how you can be a part of God’s solution. You will be equipped to respond in ways that bring long-lasting, practical change to issues of injustice suffered by the most vulnerable.


Community Development School [CDS]God is bringing transformation to communities and nations. Catch His heart for development and gain skills involved in seeing societies change.


Foundations for Counselling Ministry [FCM]The truth of Jesus Christ will set the captives free. The power of the Gospel mends broken hearts. Do you want to help people be restored to wholeness? You can find your place in taking God’s healing to the nations. The FCM will train you in practical counselling skills. You will be equipped to listen and understand, and be involved in

transforming communities as individual needs are identified and addressed.


Foundations In Education [FIE]Education has a major impact on our worldview and our beliefs. It is one of the most effective ways to disciple a nation. When Biblical principles are set within children in their foundational years, they will impact the child for life with the potential to impact their family, community, and nation. During the FIE you will learn to be a teacher who helps students of any age understand the nature and character of God, and whose students go out to impact their cultures and societies. Come and learn from Jesus, the greatest teacher of all!


Introduction to Primary Health Care [IPHC]Primary health care is one of the greatest needs in the world today. The IPHC is a six month course designed to train those with or without prior medical experience to impact nations, communities, and individuals through health care. You will learn about the character of God, with an emphasis on His heart for the poor and needy, and begin to understand the Biblical mandate for mercy.


Leadership and Pioneering School [LAPS]Do you have an apostolic call or vision? Over 9 months see that dream birthed through focused, mentored and practical leadership

training in Perth and abroad in this 4 phase leadership and pioneering school.

Date: January Length: 9 months Prerequisite: Recommendation by a current YWAM leader

Medical Missions School [MMS]A school for both the medical professional and the primary health care graduate. It is an advanced learning medical school that will equip you for missions. The IPHC graduate will receive advanced medical training and the medical professional will use their prior learning to be effective for the challenging needs of our world today. Being led by the holy spirit, the school gives a holistic and strategic approach to health care, and enables each student to apply solutions to many of these needs. Engaging in both urban and health depleted areas, it is uniquely designed to challenge your world view and to bring lasting resolve to health care problems.


Methods and Models in Biblical Counselling [MMBC]God wants to restore individuals and communities through his view of them as a father with truth, and healing. He wants to partner with you to see broken hearts healed and the captives released. Are you ready to go deeper?

School of Communication and Advocacy [SOCA]As God’s people, we have the best message and it deserves to be communicated in the best possible way – whether across a table or across a nation. The SOCA is designed to help us get more of God’s heart and ways for communicating His message. It will equip students with practical communication skills, such as public speaking, writing, research, using media, interpersonal and intrapersonal communication, and more.


School of Evangelism [SOE]Does your heart break for those who have not heard? Come and be a part of God’s answer. In the SOE you will learn evangelistic tools while God imparts to you His burden for the lost. You will discover how to share your faith using your personality and gift mix to become a more effective witness and find your purpose in the Great Commission.


School of Frontier Media [SFM]Utilise the power of sight and sound to challenge audiences with the Gospel message! The SFM is designed to grow your media skills, increase your heart for the unreached, and show you how to use your passion for film making, photography, and documentary story telling for the Kingdom of God. You will be equipped to make Christ known through means that allow the least reached to hear, see, and experience the truth within their culture and language.


School of Frontier Missions [SOFM]Has God called you to the nations? Come and be equipped with essential training to be a part of God’s answer. You will be equipped with practical tools and approaches to successfully work cross culturally. You will get to know God more and learn to step out in the authority He has given you for the mission field.


School of Music in Missions [SOMM]Do you have a musical gift and want to learn how to effectively use it in missions? The SOMM is for musicians at an intermediate level who are eager to develop their skills further. This should not be your first step into music ministry, but could be the ‘next step’ for you if you desire to use your musical gifts effectively in missions. As you take ownership of what God has given you as a musician, and invest your time, strength,

and energy, God will bring growth, increase, and multiplication. Music has the power to entertain, to influence, to redirect people towards God, and the power to heal. If your heart is gripped by God to make a difference in the nations, we believe you can!


School of Worship [SOW]How can your worship help to usher in more nations, tribes, and tongues to God’s throne room? Worship can help prepare the way for evangelism and strategic missions into places where people don’t know the name of Jesus yet. In the SOW you will learn about intercession and spiritual warfare in relation to worship. You will use worship as a tool for breakthrough, to proclaim truth where God has not been known or worshipped before. This school is not only for musicians and singers, it is for all that want to know God more and have a desire to worship Him in spirit and in truth.


Transformation School [TS]Do you know what you believe and why you believe it? Ideas have consequences. In the TS you will gain a deeper understanding of your own and the world’s major worldviews. You will look at the Biblical worldview and how God sees things. As you are able to identify harmful ideas and understand the effects they have, you will be equipped to approach communities with discipleship and practical projects to see worldviews changed.


Youth Ministry Training [YMT]See young people released into their full potential! In the YMT you will know what God’s heart is for youth and what to do about it. This is an excellent option for you if you are serious about working long term in youth ministry. Our goal is to see the raising up of a new generation of young, apostolic leaders.

English for Missions [EFM]Learn English while gaining an understanding of your call in missions! In EFM, you will be trained alongside other people from around the world how to speak, read, write and listen in English, all with the purpose of taking the gospel into all the world.


Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages [TESOL]This course will give you an opening into closed nations. Learn how to share the Gospel in creative ways with your students as you teach English. You will be well-equipped as English teachers to work professionally here in Australia or overseas, to meet the huge demand for the English language.

minisTries Ark International (Children at Risk)We are an international body defending the rights of children at risk, restoring their dignity as children of God, and developing their God-given gifts.

Art RefugeArt can be used to lift a person’s spirit, encourage, and bring God’s healing and wholeness. Art Refuge is a place where God will use art not only to speak to individuals, but also to bring healing and impact communities.

Asia ImpactAre you called to evangelism? Do you have a heart for Asia? Partnering with local churches in Perth, we are reaching the 10.000 Asian-Buddhists in our city.

Australian Relief and Mercy Services [ARMS] We work to assist families through times of crisis by providing practical help and mobilising others to do the same.

Backbone (Support Staff)We are called by God to strengthen and advance the vision of YWAM Perth by supporting the schools and ministries with

our gifts and specialised skills. Backbone Ministries are: Property Improvements, Property Development, Vehicles, Registrar, Accounts, Accommodation, Gardens, Kitchen, Personnel/Human Resources, Director’s Office, Immigration, Hospitality, Intercession, Ticketing.

Bible Education and Leadership Training [BELT]The vision of BELT is to see people groups transformed by the word of God through empowering community and church leaders who have limited access to Biblical training.

Create InternationalThe heart of Create International is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through media to the world’s unreached peoples in a way that they can understand. Dramatic films, evangelistic artwork, websites, and other easy to distribute tools are produced with the audience’s language and culture in mind.

Faces 58 Embrace a suburb and see faces change. Whole neighbourhoods are affected as the Holy Spirit comes in power to individuals. We partner with the local church to initiate community-based creative projects.

Island BreezeWe aim to communicate and honour the Creator with the gifts he has placed in the nations. Performing arts can reach beyond cultural and language barriers. Each rhythm and movement is an act of worship, a proclamation of the truth, and a tool to make the Creator known in every nation.

Justice for Women and ChildrenGod is concerned about gender-based injustice and how it impacts families today. We make a difference through practical ministry, advocacy, training, and mobilisation.

Media and Communications MinistryWe are called by God to serve in the areas of media and communications to proclaim the message of the cross. Our primary focus is to facilitate the schools and ministries of YWAM Perth. We also seek to empower and equip the Body of Christ worldwide with media and communication tools. We pursue holiness to fulfil this vision.

Medical Missions/ Medical BoomerangAre you a medical professional and want to be involved in mission? The first three weeks we will introduce you to medical missions, and give an overview of the global health needs, then send you out for a three week medical assignment that will challenge you and give you an opportunity to use both your skill and faith.

MegacitiesMegacities focus on a city of over one million people for a period of 12 months acting as a catalyst for city–wide transformation. We do this through strong partnership between the local Body of Christ and international, multi-disciplined teams. Together, we work at a grassroots level to strengthen existing ministries and pioneer new works.

Mission BuildersMission Builders calls volunteers to be part of God’s commission to make Him known in the nations by building and maintaining the support structure of YWAM Perth. Come and be part of our community as we build towards the Kingdom of God.

PathwayPathway is a ministry of services to refugees and immigrants from Unreached People Groups now living in Western Australia. It uses customised help in areas of individual, group and community felt needs, to share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ with these people. Pathway seeks to see these people integrated into Australia and the Kingdom of God.

PricelessPriceless is about prevention, advocacy, networking, research, and direct care. God is justice, therefore we seek to represent this by working toward the prevention, release and care of those enslaved – both locally and internationally, knowing God is the One who fully rescues and restores.



ReviveRevive provides a ministry platform for those with or without specialised skills, to address the challenges youth from the margins face in order to see them participate fully in their local community and their nations future. We recognise the irreplaceable contribution these youth can bring to their communities.

Simple Health CareThis is our response to God’s heart for the overwhelming need for health depleted areas, training people to understand simple health messages so they can train others in their community.

Sports MinistryAre you passionate about sport? Sport is a universal language that brings people together. God wants to use your gifts in sport, health, and physical fitness to bring people into closer relationship with their Creator.
