Idea 1I had a very strong image of this idea in my head from the very beginning. I wanted to use a typical sterotype and movie/tv show storyline and put a twist on it a so what comical yet dramatic and informative twist that could bring awareness. This idea is a love story between two young teenagers , typically ther sterotype is if you’re pretty you’re popular and if you’re unattractive you’re unpopular we see this in movies like Mean Girls and Clueless. So my music video will be based on a counter stereotype and reverse on the well known social statues in a school. A very pretty girl that would be recognisable as a popular girl will actually be the complete oppisite yet she is still stunnign and wears on trend clothes none of the guys are interested in her we then go onto her love intrest a very dorky looking guy a typical ‘geek/nerd’ sterotype will be the popular guy in the school and all the girls will want yet the attractive , muscley guy will be ignored by all the girls. The music will follow a typical love story lines from the girl wanting to get the boy to notice her and trying her hardest to by turning herself really unattrative and to the guy finally noticing her at the end of it all and everything being happily ever after.

Idea 2 • I wanted to create a mini story like a mini TV show showing the

relationship between a brother and a sister showing the love and the hate side to it. The music video would show them starting from a young age and how they would share things with each other and hold each others hands it would then show them progressively growing up and how they grow further and further apart from each other ( A lot of people would relate to this and could also learn from it)

Selection and Justification

• For my music video I have chosen my ‘Idea 1’. I chose this because it is something I have experienced and a lot of people can relate to old or young. I would be able to create a better storyline with this idea that would be more interesting to my audience I would also be able to be more creative with it. From the start I had so many ideas to put into ‘Idea 1’ that I didn’t want to put to waste.

I like that it shows the thoughts of many teenagers, and shows them reality.I dislike that it is similar to some other music videos and films

I feel that this a relatively mainstream idea that has been produced similarly on other platforms and has bee quite commercially successful.


Its not particularly to my taste style wise but I thoroughly enjoy the concept and plot line.

As I said its not really to my taste so I'm not really an authority on such things.

• I received great feedback for my idea. The main point was that it is a very creative idea and will become a great music video. The only bit of un positive feedback I got was that it was going down a mainstream path , I will avoid this by showing how the whole meaning of the video is creating a counter sterotype so it will be based on mainstream but with a twist.

Target Audience

• The appropriate target age for my music video is 12-22 I worked this out by looking at similar videos to mine and what there target age is. My music video has a high school theme which will attract the young generation to enjoy it and also slightly older to relate to it.

• The gender target audience is both boys and girls I have chosen this as it is something both sexs can relate to and would enjoy viewing.
