Our current Senior Pastor, Stephen Hower, recently made the decision to step out of the Senior Pastor role in July 2015. We are excited Pastor Hower will not be leaving us, but will be moving into a part-time teaching pastor and senior leader role within our ministry. His plan is to continue in that role through June 2018 at which time he will transition into retirement.

Nominations for our new Senior Pastor are being accepted through February 11, 2015. A nomination card is available at the Information Station located in the lobby of the Sanctuary during weekend services, in the lobby of the Ministry Center during the week or at stjstl.net/transition.

Throughout this process we ask you to pray for unity in our congregation and that God would clearly show us who He has planned to be our next Senior Pastor. You can find out more information about this transition at the Information Station after service or at stjstl.net/transition.

IronMenIronMen is a network of men’s groups who gather together regularly to challenge, support and encourage each other on their LIFEjourney.

IronMen groups gather in the following ways:• Weekly: To study scripture or a relevant book, enjoy time together

and pray for one another.• Quarterly: All IronMen gather as a large group for a Speaker

Series breakfast. This is a great time to get connected to a group and hear insights from other men living the LIFEjourney.

• Annually: In a retreat intended to deepen relationships and encourage men to step up as leaders in their family, community and church.

It’s always a good time to join a group, and it just might change your life. Take the step today to connect with other men and see how God can use these relationships to make a huge impact!

The next IronMen Speaker Series is Saturday, February 21 at 7:00am.

Updates can also be found at stjstl.net/ironmen.

The Truth about False TeachersNo one wants to be a false teacher. False teachers believe what they teach is true. Some false teachers are just misinformed. They don’t know the truth! Some false teachers are wrong. Accepting God’s truth, in their mind, is destructive. Still others prefer to compromise. If the issue is the difference between Heaven and hell, compromise is damning.

So, what should Christians do to protect themselves from false teachers?

• Be informed. It’s good to know what most people believe, even if it opposes our faith. We need to have intelligent conversations.

• Be a discerning learner. Eat the fish. Spit out the bones. • Know the Bible. Be like the Boreans in Acts 17:11; check out the

truth in Scripture.

Be Encouraged at Come and Worship• If you want to be filled up and encouraged by God then Come &

Worship is for you. • This event is the evening of February 17 at 7:00pm and will feature

acoustic music allowing space to praise God through singing and prayer. Come & Worship will take place in Cornerstone on the second floor.

• This is a great opportunity to invite a friend and make sure to bring your family. See you there!
