The Lord’s Supper and Prayer IntercessorsWorship at St. John includes a celebration of Holy Communion twice a month. We believe Holy Communion is a special gift of God for our benefit.

As a commitment to biblical integrity, communion is reserved for:

• baptized Christians (Acts 2: 37,38)• those who recognize and confess their sins (Prov. 28:13; 1 John 1:8)• those who believe the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ

is offered under forms of bread and wine (1 Corinthians 10: 16; 1 Corinthians 11:27)

• those who accept Jesus’ words: “given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28)

All who share these biblical beliefs are encouraged to participate. (Non-alcoholic wine is offered in the blue section of the Communion trays for those with special needs.) Gluten-free wafers are available at any of the main floor communion stations. Please see a worship volunteer for assistance, if needed.

During the distribution of the Lord’s Supper until the end of the service, prayer intercessors are available on either side of the Sanctuary to pray with you. Please feel free to approach them at any time with your requests.
