KIDS & STUDENTS PRAYERS

The Lord’s SupperAt St. John we believe God gives us Holy Communion for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:26–28) and the deepening of our relationship with Him and also each other. All who share in our profession of the Christian faith are encouraged to partake in Holy Communion provided they:

• have received Christian Baptism (Acts 2:36–38),• recognize and confess their sinfulness (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:8–9),• forgive others (Matthew 5:21–24; Matthew 6:12) and• believe the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ are truly

present, offered under forms of bread and wine (1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:27–29).

For questions about Communion or for parents of children wishing to receive Holy Communion (who have not yet received Lord’s Supper instruction), please speak with a pastor after the service. You may also go to stjstl.net/communion for further study.

Note: Non-alcoholic wine is offered in the blue section of the communion trays and gluten-free wafers are also available at all communion stations for those with special needs.

NEXT: Lean In | Step Up | Break Out

Generosity is life changing, but it doesn’t happen by simply listening to a message about it. We have to take action, intentionally move away from where we currently are and toward where we want to be. NEXT is our opportunity to do just that as individuals and a church.

The great thing about NEXT is that is not just about campus improvements or our house church initiative or investing in the next generation, it’s about EVERYTHING WE WILL DO over the next 2 years. No matter what this church does, what you are most passionate about, it will be supported through NEXT. We are doing it all through ONE FUND, one focus, one unified vision.

This weekend is commitment weekend where you have the opportunity to respond to God and commit the mission of this church in a new and exciting way. We pray God will speak clearly to you, give you courage and ultimately bless you throughout the next 2 years.

If you have questions about NEXT, please contact Jeff Cook at [email protected]. For more information, you can also visit the website, stjstl.net/next.
