MESSAGE FROM PASTOR ANDY - I remember not too long ago that I wrote a snippet for one of our previous newsletters
that featured all the exciting projects, groups, ministries, and events that we had planned in the upcoming months. Our after·
school program was going very well, and I was really looking forward to getting the kids out to camp laMoine on their half
day of school before Easter. In addition to that, we had many other exciting things planned. Back when I wrote that, it
seemed that there were some pretty exciting opportunities for ministry approaching. But then EVERYTHING got cancelled !!
It seemed sad that all the exciting things that were happening came to a screeching halt, and it seemed that perhaps the work
of God was maybe even hindered.
It reminded me of Paul when he had planned to visit Asia on a missionary journey but was prevented from doing so. In Acts
16 lt even says that God Himself forbid him to go. So, Paul had his plans, but God had other plans, and instead Paul was sent
to Macedonia.
We must be encouraged that the work of God is never hindered. Although this season looks very different than how we
anticipated, God ls working through new ways that we never would have imagined. We have our plans, but God directs our
steps. I encourage you to keep excitement and enthusiasm about our task of reaching our community and the nations for
Christ. Let's be excited for what God is still doing during this time at, and through, our church I

CINDY HAGMEIER - Cindy is working 40 hours a week at Heartland In Macomb with several changes in her work environment
- no visitors- no volunteers - no group activities. She indicated that dementia residents do not understand why they cannot
see family. All the staff has to wear face masks 100% of the time when in the building, except for eating where only two
people can be in the break room at one time. Cindy stated that each worker was given only one "single-use" face mask and
told to put his or her name on it as it was theirs to use over and over. In response to this need, her mother-, Lorraine, has
been sewing cloth face masks for individuals at Heartland which t hey can launder nightly.
LORRAINE HAGMEIER - As mentioned above, Lorraine has been making cloth face masks for Heartland as well as the Elms
Nursing Home. She Is starting a batch for the La Harpe Nursing Home. To date, she has made over 150 masks - THANK YOU

picking up her mail.

LYREN HANEY traveled to Israel on January 7, 2020, with her niece, Sarah Wanek. This quote from Lyren came from the
Spring 2020 Wesley Village Newsletter: "I didn' t leave with any expectations of my trip or any anxiousness. I really felt at
peace. I was excited to be able to go and very thankful that it was happening ..... We never know where God is going to take
us."
NEWS FROM JEAN DOUGHERTY -- My goal when I retired was to research and compile family histories for both sides
of my family {Painter and Elder) and Lynn's family (Dougherty and Curry). I started over 20 years ago. During that time, I
also wrote my late mother's life story and my father's. By the time I got to Lynn's mother's side of the family, I was burned
out. I had initially done some Curry research and then stopped. I decided to put our "quarantine" time to good use. l picked
up the Curry history I had started and completed it. Lynn always thought he was half Irish (Dougherty) and half English
because his mother's family came from England. Surprise I The Curry name originated in Scotland and migrated to Ireland,
England, and Wales. Now he's claiming to be 100% Irish!
