Principal’s message Best Start reports will be sent home to all Kindergarten parents today. Best Start was completed in the first week of school and already students have made great progress. Please read the report, take on any suggestions and watch your child grow. If you have any questions, see Mrs Lloyd. Mrs McLaughlan and Mrs Pengilly will be at Stronger Smarter training all week. This is an amazing professional learning experience that enhances the relationships between students, staff and parents. I can’t wait the see what they bring back from this experience. Parent Teacher interviews are starting next week. Our PLSP meetings will be held during Week 7 and 8 followed by everyone else in Week 9. Some parents should have received a letter with a time to attend. Due to the complexity of these interviews it would be great if everyone can try and attend at these times. Last year 95% of our parents attended these meetings, we are aiming for 100% this year. Here’s something I read last week that resonates so well at our school. A promise to parents: Every child needs a parent, a friend and a teacher. Have a great week! Regards Sharon Hawker Maths Textbooks Thank you to all parents who have purchased maths textbooks. There are a few students who haven’t purchased them yet. If you are having difficulty paying please contact the office ASAP. Life Education Van Is visiting our school during Week 7. Cost is $10.00 per child. Students from K to Year 6 will be attending. Permission note is attached to todays newletter. Payments can be made via POP. Permission note and payment are due by Wednesday 8th March.

A reminder to parents to notify the school about your child’s health

We welcome information from parents about your child’s health, even if you are not requesting specific support from our school. Our school asks for medical information when you enrol your child. It is also important that you let us know if your child’s health care needs change or if a new health condition develops.Information about allergies, medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes and other health related issues (including prior conditions such as medical procedures in the last 12 months) should be provided to the school by parents. Please provide this information in writing to the principal. This will greatly assist our school in planning to support your child’s health at school. Please remember to notify staff in the office of any changes to your contact details or to the contact details of other people nominated as emergency contacts. We appreciate your assistance in this regard and assure you that any information you provide the school will be stored securely and will only be used or disclosed in order to support your son or daughter’s health or as otherwise required by law.

Primary Swimming for Sport

As we are a Sun Safe School all students are required to wear a rashie for swimming. Please ensure your child has one of these for swimming. If they don’t, they will be required to wear a spare shirt provided by the School. Please make sure your child has money for pool entry - $2.50. If you owe money please pay ASAP. Students who owe more than a week’s entry fees are not allowed to enter the pool.

Class in Focus: Year 4

Year 4 are off to a flying start and have been keep-ing very busy. One of their many jobs has been to help maintain and prepare the garden for the year. The Year 4 students put in a huge effort last Tuesday removing weeds, raking away the sticks and leaves, watering the plants and putting fresh bedding in the

chicken yard. Great job Year 4!
