EXTREME ADVENTURE CAMP: AUGUST 6–10It’s time to unlock your inner beast! At Extreme

Adventure Camp, we want campers to do activities

that they would have never thought of or had the

outlet to participate in. From Braveheart Capture the

Flag to The Kroc’s very own rendition of Paintball, your

youth will have the time of their life—and may get a

little dirty in the process. The week will culminate with

the first annual Adventure Camp Dirty Dash, complete

with obstacles, events, team work and of course…lots

of mud!

REVENGE OF THE NERDS: AUGUST 13–17

Outdoor adventures like hiking and climbing aren’t for

everyone. Our final week of Adventure Camp allows

campers to venture outside of reality, and into a world

created by and for them. Glowstick Foosball, Quidditch,

a field trip to Laser Quest, and some good ol’ fashioned

LARPing will get campers active and engaged without

having to participate in traditional sports or outdoor

activities. With the addition of video game challenges,

recording studio time and trips to the beach, this will

definitely be a week to remember.

Adventure Camp Schedule of ActivitiesCLIMBING: JUNE 11–15 Hang-out and climb with first-rate North Idaho climbers

in and outside of The Kroc. Enjoy the pool, rock wall

including a local ropes course, Tubbs Hill bouldering,

and more advanced routes at Q-emlin park in Post Falls.

be unleashed through a variety of inspiring field trips

and experiences, culminating in a large group mural in

DAY CAMP VISITORSAny day camp visitors for all children and staff will be required to sign-in, and will be given a name tag to identify the individual as a visitor of Camp Kroc.

LOST AND FOUNDLost and found items will be kept for a period of two weeks after a session, then donated to the local Salvation Army Thrift Store. The lost and found is located at the front desk of The Kroc Center.

MEDICATION DISTRIBUTIONIn the case of medication distribution, parents must complete a Right to Distribute Medication Form. Any medication not brought in the appropriate container may preclude camp participation for your child on that day.

ILLNESS AND INJURIESCamp Kroc is not designed or equipped to handle ill children. If your camper be-comes ill while at Camp Kroc, our staff will make your child comfortable in an area away from the other campers. Our staff will then contact you (the parent) or one of the individuals you have authorized to pick up your child. If immediate medical attention is needed or if the severity of an injury cannot be correctly established, parents will be notified immediately. The Emergency Medical System (911) will be activated at the discretion of Camp Coordinators and/or Camp Counselors. If staff is unable to reach parents whose child is in need of immediate medical attention, he/she will be transported to the nearest hospital via ambulance and staff will continue to attempt to contact parents. It takes a special person to be a counselor for our campers, your kids. Camp Kroc

Counselors have to be energetic, enthusiastic, fun—but also trained to respond

quickly and efficiently in any situation. Your child’s safety is our number one priority.

KEY SAFETY GUIDELINES

• All staff members will receive First Aid and CPR certification from The American Red Cross.

• Emergency action plans will be created for each planned activity.

• The two main beaches that Camp Kroc will visit are staffed by full-time lifeguard staff beside our summer camp staff. Lifeguard staff will be notified of Camp Kroc’s presence prior to the scheduled day.

• There will be a 1:10 counselor to child ratio at minimum, at all times. The names of the campers will be kept on staff at all times and “check-ins” will be required between each activity.

• When taking a field trip, a senior counselor with The Salvation Army Decisive Driving Certification will drive.

• Adventure Camp staff will be equipped with cell phones and first aid kits, as well as all emergency information needed for each participant.

• At least one counselor at each aquatic activity will be lifeguard certified. In addition, Kroc lifeguards will be present during all swim sessions that take place at The Kroc Center.

• A first aid kit and a list of medications and allergies will be on camp staff at all times. Parental emer-gency contact information will remain on staff no matter the activity, and cell phones will be allotted to multiple staff members for emergency purposes and to remain in contact with the Camp Director.
