This unit is a very good example of that.

We began the class with a review from previous lessons.

Just like the previous lesson, it is much quicker using Pascal's Triangle rather than expanding it.

Instead of.. expandingand then simplifying

By using the formula above, you will get the number in red

Mr.K then showed us a number of patterns found in Pascal's Triangle

·Adding the two numbers above·Hockey Stick Pattern·Fibonacci's numbers: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13.

Simply add the two numbers above to get the number underneath.

Then Mr. K 'Wowed' us with his math powers!By using patterns, Mr. K asked 'volunteers' to come up to the board. He asked the first 2 to pick two random numbers from 1 - 10. The rest where asked to add the two numbers above. After there were 10 numbers, Mr. K 'raced' us to get the sum. Of course, he won using his math powers.
