Use these for a great Facebook Page

LikesBe sure to have more than 30 Likes so you can get “Insights” (more on that later)
Ways to increase Likes:
Let people know you’re on Facebook!
1. Tell them
2. Put it on your print marketing materials

5. Invite fellow NDSU staff to Like your Page
Posts/Content Not sure what to post? Lacking content?
1. Follow like-pages and you can share their content.
• Boomers (if in your county)• NDSU Extension• Variety trials are out! Crop &
Pest!• Etc.! Just search Facebook
for “NDSU Extension” and you should get many results
Posts/Content
2. Create a calendar of postings ahead of time and you can schedule them. Example from U of CA: http://bit.ly/1LiCKm0
3. Anything posted to your website can easily be made into a Facebook post by just linking to it.
Engagement Be attentive to comments
1. Be sure to respond in a timely manner if questions are asked
2. If someone comments, be sure to at least Like it/acknowledge it even if it’s not a questionPhoto by Ygor Oliveira/Wikimedia
How do you keep on top of these?• Check your Page at least daily• Adjust your Page notifications• Download the app on your phone
Insights
Shows you:1. Who your audience is
2. What kind of posts they like
3. “Where” your audience is
4. When they are mostly likely to read your posts
5. Why goes back to #2. Content is king but is it better as a link, a post a share?
