Analysis of survey monkey results

Age

From my results I can see that the average age of the participants were age under 18. At 80.95% this means that the audience for my magazine will be this age group. This is biased because the participants who answered the survey are in my media class and they are all under 18.

Music genre

The most popular genre of music in this survey is clearly Indie rock. This appeals to me as it is my preferred choice of music. The choices I made all link together and are a similar genre of music. This means that any magazine I make will appeal to my audience.

Gender

As shown in the pie chart you can see that the main gender is female. Showing that my magazine will be aimed towards females. The results are biased because the people who answered the survey were in my media class and my class has more females than males.

What would you notice when you look at a magazine?

The participants in my survey have said that they notice the main image first when they look at a magazine. This means that when making my own I will make the main image the main subject of the magazine.

What colour scheme would you like?

The most popular colour scheme is vibrant. 69.57% of people preferred this as the colour scheme of a magazine. The vibrant colour chosen fits in with the type of music that is most popular- Indie rock. Indie rock magazines tend to have vibrant colours such as yellow, red and orange.

What content would you like to be included in the magazine?

Interviews were the most popular content with over half of participants choosing this option. Upcoming events were the second most popular 30.43% content. I would have expected these two options to be the most popular because in popular magazine this is what most of the content consists of.

Which of these artists/bands would you find the most interesting?

The options I chose were all similar styles of music. However, the artist that generally plays the most indie rock genre had the most amount of responses. This links with the most favourite style of music chosen- Indie Rock. This is clearly the most popular genre amongst the participants.

How often would you purchase the magazine?

Participants who answered said that they would purchase a magazine monthly. This I think is the most suitable time frame because it is not all the time but it doesn’t wait too long. So people look forward to the magazine being published. If it was

yearly then people might forget about it.

On a scale of 0 (busy) to 10 (organised) how would you like the music magazine?

From the graph you can see that the average is 70. Showing that the participants wanted a more organised magazine set out. This means that they don’t want a messy magazine they want it to look formal.

What is the reason for why you buy magazines?

The majority of participants who answered the magazine said that band interviews were the main reason for buying the magazine. The other majority of people said that they buy it to be informed. This could be to be informed on band interviews.
