For instance, Dental caries isthe most common in children asthey consume a lot ofCarbohydrate-rich foods such ascandy, cookies, soft drinks andeven fruit juices leave deposits onthe teeth. Those deposits bond withbacteria that in your mouth and form plaque. Dental plaque should beremoved at least twice daily to reduce tooth enamel exposure to acids.Chocolates, sticky foods like cream filled cookies and wafers and totop it all children, fail to gargle after that or even forget to brush atnight. There is one common mistake that is an important cause ofcaries involving the milk teeth, is that most children are bottle fed atnight or for the convenience of the mother, they breast feed at nightbefore they fall asleep.

Tooth decay is the process that results in tooth structure loss. Itoccurs when acids are present in your mouth that destroys toothenamel integrity. It is important to visit your pediatric dentist todiagnose the cause of tooth decay, whether it’s bacterial or dietary orboth. Most of the time if caught early tooth decay can be treated quiteeasily without traditional drill and fill methods. If extensive toothstructure loss has occurred dentalrestorations,fillings,crowns,extractions may be necessary.

Trauma is another common problem that children face especiallyin the age of 1-2 half years as they are very prone to injuries. Mostcommon type of trauma include Avulsion(complete displacement ofthe teeth from socket),Intrusion(inward movement of teeth into thebone), extrusion(outward or slight displacement). what to do whenthe tooth is displaced completely:

1)WASH the teeth in running water to remove debris, DO notwash hard as it will remove the enamel.2) Place the tooth gently in milkor salt solution or commercially available solution(SAVE-A-TOOTH)solution. 3) Or parents can themselves place the tooth gently afterdebriding and VISIT the dentisit IMMEDIATELY.

Another important issue in kids is Sensitive Teeth.

Your teeth expand and contract in reaction to changes intemperature. Hot and cold food and beverages can cause pain orirritation to people with sensitive teeth. Sensitive teeth may also be asign of other problems: tooth decay, worn tooth enamel, or gumrecession. If sensitivity is severe and persistent, please take yourchild to the dentist. GUM DISEASE or gingivitis, can cause gums tobleed easily and become red and swollen. As the disease progressesto periodontitis, teeth become loose, may fall out or need to be removedby a dentist. Gum disease is highly preventable and can usually beavoided by daily brushing and flossing.

India's longest Photo Cake celebrating Daan Utsav

For the fifth consecutive year, The French Loaf, India's largestbakery chain has once again made a mark, by creating the LongestPhoto Cake in the country at The Forum Vijaya Mall as part of DaanUtsav. This innovative event aims in supporting various Chennaibased NGOs. Chief Guest, M.Mahadevan, Chairman of OrientalCuisines Pvt.Ltd. attended this gala event and supported the noblecause. The one of its kind eggless photo cake weighed 1000 kilograms,spread across 100 metres, featuring 1000 photographs of NationalAward Winning Tamil movies spanning over decades. A team of 15chefs from The French Loaf engaged in the baking and assemblingprocess to create the gigantic cake

The proceeds of the sales from the photo cake went to UdhavumUllangal Public Charitable Trust, Agni Foundation, Chennai SocialService, Arnodayam, Ekam Foundation, Dean Foundation, Child Home,Bhumi, Chhase, GMNR & Mother Teresa Trust and Anandanam Trust.These social NGO's deals in providing support and raise their voicesfor the various social issues in the society.
