ATHLETICS
Tiger Pride
First of all, TIGER PRIDE!
Marana Athletic News
Last week was the final week for soccer and wrestling. Both the men’s and women’s soccer
programs played very competitive teams and gave an exciting show in their final games.
The women’s team played until the 80th minute and executed a winning goal in the 71st
minute of the game against CDO. Our men’s team revealed their true competitive nature and
tremendous progress by beating Vista Grande which was a challenge for them last year.
Wrestling “Tiger Style” showed a great athletic performance against Poston Butte, Maricopa
and Cienega with a winning sweep of all three teams. They are preparing for the Division I
sectionals at Desert Vista. We wish them luck!
This is the final week of basketball and it would be great for you to come out and support
our Tigers. These young men and women have worked hard all year and have represented
Marana Athletics with the highest level of integrity. We have challenging games ahead so
more spectators in the “Tiger Pride” house would be FABULOUS! Hope to see you there on
Tuesday and Thursday!
REMINDER: Spring try-outs begin February 9th. If your child is planning to try-out for
baseball, softball, track, men’s volleyball, or tennis, he/she must have all completed
paperwork into the Athletics department by February 6th. Students cannot try-out per
AIA without completed paperwork on file in the school Athletic department. If you have any
questions, call 616-6475.
Proud to be the AD!
