Tiger Pride
Athletic News
TIGER PRIDE News
The 3 C’s (Culture, Commitment, and Competitiveness) philosophy is echoing throughout
Marana like a Tiger’s roar. It is the way of the TIGER to continue to work hard in reaching
their goals in the classroom and athletics. This past week it was another sweep for the
football program against Catalina Foothills. We had some really good competition on the
court with ladies volleyball falling short at Saguaro. The ladies golf team continues to
reach for a state position showing competitiveness on the course against Sabino. Please
come out and support our kids. They are fun to watch, TIGER PRIDE!!!
We are very pleased to announce the hire of our new Head Baseball Coach. Coach Trevor
Harvey’s skill and expertise will be a tremendous asset for our program, and we are
excited our student athletes will be led by a passionate and dedicated coach to carry
forward our vision of Culture, Commitment, and Competitiveness.
Coach Harvey was drafted by the Seattle Mariners right out of high school, but chose to
attend college at Michigan State University (MSU) and play with the Spartans, being
named captain his senior season. Coach Harvey has been a middle and high school teacher
and baseball coach for all levels including little league. As a coach over the past nineteen
years, he has assisted eleven players to play at the collegiate level with one currently
playing at the AAA level for the San Diego Padres.
Following the events of 9/11, he enlisted in the Michigan Air National Guard where he
began his career with the 127th Wing serving in the Base Education and Training Office.
As a MSgt in the United States Air Force he continues to serve as the chaplain's assistant
with the Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing.
Please join us at a Meet and Greet for Coach Harvey on Wednesday, September 30th, at
6:30pm in the Marana High School library.
Honored to be the your AD,
Ms. Montiel Turner

PBIS Information
ROCKIN’ the PBIS “Did your student get a Tiger Ticket today?” Positive words and actions go a long
way and are part of our Marana culture. Acknowledging our Tigers for opening
doors for people, saying good morning to a stranger, or saying “Tiger Pride” to a
fellow Tiger is what PBIS is about. These words and actions can create positive
changes on campus, in the classrooms and at home. Let’s work together in
starting the day off right with sharing positive words to our kids. We at Marana
want to start with, “Thank you for sending us your amazing student. We are
anxious to see their faces when we return from Fall Break!”
PBIS donations can be sent to our receptionist, Mrs. Vatterrodt. Thank you for
your support.
