EDITORIAL
FROM THE DESK OF THE MANAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE
L ast week, SAIBSA (South Asian International Baccalaureate Schools Association) organized a meeting for IB faculty. Mainadevi Bajaj International School, at Malad in Mumbai, played
host to the IB faculty from the western and northern zones of our country. Our faculty from
the Diploma Program also joined them to share their experiences and upgrade their knowledge on the current teaching practices. We are sure such workshops are necessary for professional development.
Semester 2 Assessments are in progression from 17 February 2014 and students are busy preparing
to earn their best rewards. We wish all the students good luck!

PARENT’S COMPLIMENT
T he Indian Music and Dance Concert event on 8th Feb 2014 indeed was very entertaining!
We parents were very enthusiastic to see our wards perform to the beats of different types of
music from all across India. It started with a welcome song and Ganpati vandana. Then
came dances by kindergarten and I, must say they were very cute indeed! The dances performed
by the other children were very energetic and all the children seemed to tell themselves that they
should be the best! We always look forward to such concerts and go back home with a content
seen on our faces.
Eagerly waiting for the next show!

GROW & GLOW
THE GLITERRATI WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up!
The calamities of adolescence,
Perpetual obstacles
hindering our ability to enjoy
the simple things in life.
Incessantly surrounded by drama,
“he-said, she-said” gossip,
petty arguments,
and the tragic dilemmas
of teenage life.
They say these are the best years of our lives.
Stressful schoolwork,
the frustration and pressure
to do your best,
always give 110%.
Imperative decisions
and choices that are crucial
towards your future
are essentially necessary
to be made …Right now.
The overwhelming distress
and distraught feelings
are overpowering.
They say these are the best years of our lives
and I couldn’t agree more.
For nothing I’d trade the memories made.
The laughter and cheer
throughout all of the years
outweighs everything else
making it all worthwhile.
Does it really have to end?
That Friday evening, I was a part of the Beautiful
people! I reminisced …my school years while I
saw our students and teachers went free and
opportunely dancing to the loud beats! Their
gleaming faces free from any tension, I should say!
I remembered the above poem that I had read years
back!
I asked myself “Ephemeral?” and then said, “That
is alright”. Let them be free from pressure! I do
know that tensions are a part, an integral part of our
lives! Such get together evenings are stress busters
and they do help one to rejuvenate and move
ahead!
So, dear students, NO TENSION…..Enjoy and live
every moment of your life!

GLITTERATI… ALL THE WAY!
L ast Friday evening, we had organized a party
in school. It was an alumnus in order to
reunite the students who had passed out. It
was Glitterati!
What really touched my heart was the way we all
reunited, how amazing it felt! I feel really lucky to
be a part of a school that organizes such events.
What a nostalgic night! We danced to the latest
music with our teachers as well. Quiet an
unconventional experience!
Well done, dear seniors! You have set an example
for us to follow next year!

O n the 7th of January 2014, the students of
RBK enjoyed an evening of dance, music
and delicious food. The event was dubbed
“The Gliteratti”. This was a party organized by our
teachers for the students. The evening started off
slowly, with students coming in at different times
and teachers trying to get the students to dance
while the DJ played some foot tapping music. As
the evening progressed, students poured in in large
numbers. Ex-Students of the 12th grade were also
invited to the event and they did not disappoint.
They arrived in style. It was a lively evening and
some students came in costumes while others in
casual clothes. Once the students were on the dance
floor, it was next to impossible to get them off.
Students enjoyed themselves so much that they did
not notice how fast time had passed. As they say,
time passes quickly when you’re having so much
fun. It was time for everyone to go home and talk
about the fun they had that evening. All in all, it
was a fabulous evening of enjoyment and fun, for
the teachers as well as the students.

6 th February 2014, for me it was my birthday but for the IBDP 2 batch it was the day we had to finalize all
our Internal Assessment’s. Sigh!!! That day Ms. Shivangi told us about the party teachers had organized
for us the which was due to take place the following day. Glitterati. Sounds interesting? Well, at first we
thought that maybe it was just another RBKIA event where we would come and dance while others go munching.
However, after coming to the realization that it could be the last party for the IBDP-2 batch, all of us suddenly
started getting really responsive to it. For me and most of my class mates, we spent 6 years in this school and
being just 2 months away from graduation we knew that this was the last time we could all for just a couple of
hours, experience the power of togetherness. For once, we could keep all our differences aside and embrace the
time we had together. That's exactly what we did. We danced, with our friends and our teachers and enjoyed the
moment. That's it, the moment. No Internal Assessments, no Extended Essay, no cycle tests, no university
application deadlines…just us, the teachers and the MYP students. It was indeed an amazing memorable
experience. At the end, I came to a realization that setting apart the differences, in reality these are the little things
which will make us smile now and in future. So that was Glitterati. IBDP 2 students had fun and they will always
be grateful for the day.
