SCHOOL EVENT

WESTERN MUSIC CONCERT 2013

O n Saturday 26th October, students from the entire school participated in our Annual Western Music Concert. The theme for this year was – soundtracks from blockbuster movies. We had put in weeks of preparation, so naturally we all wanted to do a good job. We kept quiet in our greenrooms, as we were scared to mess up on stage; we repeated the

melodies in our heads throughout the day, not wanting to be the cause of a bad performance. Eventually, I think we delivered a good performance of ‘Hedwig’s Theme – Harry Potter’, and the audience seemed to enjoy it. All in all, it was the perfect way to start our Diwali holidays, giving us something to be proud of! Thank you dear teachers, for putting in all your hard work

and dedication to ensure the concert would be successful! Neeraja Chemburkar - Grade 9

T he song we did was ‘Conquest of Paradise’, which we sixth graders found very interesting. A kid from grade 2 said, “I really liked the concert, it was, I really liked performing in front of everyone”. When the other grades were going on with performing the rest of the kids were in their greenrooms enjoying, they were dancing, chatting, drawing, watching

videos, reading books and doing lots more. All of the kids were looking gorgeous in their costumes! Another parent of a sixth grader and K1 student exclaimed, “All the students performed and hosted the show in a spectacular way”. Another parent of Grade 2 said, “The performers looked stunning!” Well, that’s all I have got for you now. I hope you all enjoyed the show

too!!!!! Simran Kaur - Grade 6

Nursery For the UOI presentation, the K1 children presented a role-play on ‘road safety’, a song on transportation and also explained the road rules to their parents while explained to their parents what they did for the overall UOI. The K2 children too presented a role-play on ‘community helpers’, a song and also explained what they did for the UOI. All the Math and English links were discussed. It was very encouraging to know that our kids have learnt so much on the transportation system and could express well.
