Father’s Day Stall A big thank you to the P & C Members who worked at both the Father’s Day Stall, last Wednesday, and the Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday. Both events were very successful due to the efforts of a large group of P & C Members. The students enjoyed picking from a wide range of gifts for their dads. On Friday we had a great turn out of dads join us for breakfast and then be entertained by our Kindergarten students. I hope all our dads enjoyed their gifts, the breakfast and performance and Father’s Day yesterday. Zone Public Speaking Finals Last Thursday we hosted the Zone Public Speaking Finals. Over 80 students from 11 public schools competed in the four stage finals during the day. The standard of speeches was outstanding and showed what talented students we have in public schools. Well done to our eight representatives Mia Jamal, Cameron Dalton, Indali Romeyn, Finn Robertson, Zoe Naylor, Pearl McQueen, Belinda Dalton and Ikey Allen. Seven of our representatives finished in the top 5. They should be proud of their outstanding performances. Congratulations to Belinda Dalton who won the Stage 3 competition, whilst Finn Robertson received a highly commended award in the Stage 1 competition. K-2 Musical Performance Our K-2 performances are held this week with matinees on Monday and Wednesday at 11.30am each day and two night shows on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6.30pm. On Friday we held a matinee which all of our students had the opportunity to attend. A big thank you to Mrs Coleman for her coordination of the performance and to all of the K-2 staff for the time and effort they have put into making the performance happen. Central Coast PSSA Soccer 5’s Last Tuesday our Year 6 Soccer 5 girls and boys teams played in the Central Coast PSSA Soccer 5’s at Tuggerah. Both teams enjoyed the opportunity to play a new sport. The girls won two of their four games and finished fourth. The boys won all four games including a golden goal win in the final against Terrigal. Congratulations to both teams on their efforts. Thanks to Mr Wright for supervising the team and to the parents who assisted with transport and support during the day. Kindergarten Orientation Night Last Monday we held a Kindergarten Orientation night for 2017. We had over 40 parents take the opportunity to attend and hear about the school from Mrs Tobin and our SRC. They also went on a tour of the school. Well done to our SRC for their great presentations. Our School Fair

Last weekend was our School Fair. I went to the Fair at 10am. The first ride I went on was the Stunt Jump. Then I bought two $2

jars at the $2 jar stall. Then I went on the Teacup ride. I didn’t want to go on the Teacup ride but I had to because my sister

wanted to.

Then I wanted to go on the ride when you had to spin the circle around in a circle, but if you don’t spin it, it won’t spin.

After, we had to go home, then me and my mum went back to the Fair because my mum worked at the Book stall. I bought a

sausage sandwich. After that I bought a slushie. Then I went on the Jumping Castle. I had $3 left so I went in the Haunted House.

Inside it was so scary that I cried. After the Haunted House, it was time to go home.

I felt like I had so much to enjoy that I ran into a pole. When I hopped in the car, I was happy because my dad gave $1 to me and

I bought a chocolate.

Congratulations to all involved. Special mention goes to Georgia Stevenson who set a new SCCPSSA record for the Snr Girls

200m event and Tahj Werner, the new SCCPSSA record holder for the Jnr Boys 800m event.

Thank you to all of the parents who provided transport to and from the carnival and assisted students in preparation for the

YEAR 6 BOYS & GIRLS PSSA MARINERS CUP SOCCER 5’s

On Tuesday a group of Year 6 boys and girls competed in the PSSA Mariners Cup, a Soccer 5’s tournament organised by Mr

Hallaways involving public schools from all over the Central Coast.

For the girls, they played beautifully, managing 2 wins against Berkeley Vale (2-1) and Gorokan Public School (5-0) respectively

and 1 loss, against Woy Woy South Public School. The girls rallied together in their final game of the day, the bronze medal

match against Blue Haven Public School, but the game ended with Avoca Beach going down 2-0. The boys managed to get the

through all three rounds undefeated, demonstrating excellent skill and teamwork. At the end of the day they played in the final

for the Mariners cup against Terrigal Public School. After quite a physical match, scores were tied at 1-1 at full time. After one

half of extra-time the match was in to golden point. The boys dug deep and were able to put away the cup winning goal, thanks

to Joe Groom.

Both teams can be very proud of the way they conducted themselves and the effort they put in throughout the day! Well Done!

Many thanks to all parents who attended and cheered on and for their assistance with transportation.

A big shout out to Mr Hallaways for making the day possible.
