The Bunnings barbecues are always very profitable and a great way to raise much needed funds for schools. It was a fun and successful day with many tasty sausage sandwiches purchased. Special thanks to Richard and Monty Hyles, Jason and Danielle Manton, Huw Robb, and Mandy Bourlet. SASS Recognition Week 2018 This week we have celebrated SASS (School Administrative and Support Staff) Recognition Week. We acknowledged the hard work of Kathy and Amanda who work hard to keep our little school running smoothly. Open Day On Thursday 6 th September we celebrated public education with open classrooms and a book parade. It was a great morning with fantastic book week costumes. Unfortunately, the inclement weather hindered the picnic lunch. Assembly A whole school assembly will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 19 th September. The students will be showcasing their learning over the term. All parents and friends are warmly invited to attend. Paddock to Plate Day On Monday 10th September, our school attended Murrumburrah High School’s Paddock to Plate day. We dressed as farmers and gave coin donations to the ‘Buy a Bale’ appeal. We all had a wonderful day building a den, exploring farm machinery, having snail races, apple bobbing, learning about different types of soils and meeting many farm animals. The sun was shining and a great day was had by all. Tell Them From Me Parent Survey 2018 Research indicates that partnerships between home and school directly improve student learning outcomes. From Monday 27 th August, parents of students from Jugiong PS are able to anonymously complete the Tell Them From Me Parent Survey. This survey is an important tool to help drive ongoing school improve- ment. A link to the survey will be sent home with your child shortly. No username or password is required. Community feedback is highly valued by the staff at Jugiong PS and we strongly encourage all parents to participate in the survey. Premier’s Spelling Bee Today we have four students (Regan Manton, Bill and Samuel Elphick, and Lucy Robb) attending the Regional Spelling Bee at Gundagai Public School. We wish our competitors well and hope they have an enjoyable day. Arabin Cup This Friday we will be travelling to the Binalong Community Club for the Arabin Cup t-ball day. It is forecast to be a sunny 21 degrees on the day, so children will need to take a hat and some sunscreen. A canteen will be available on the day with each school having an allocated canteen timeslot. All schools need to arrive by 9.30am for a 10am start. Bunnings BBQ A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped at the P&C Bunnings

barbecue fundraiser last Saturday 8th September in Belconnen.

“LET’S GIVE IT TO THE FARMERS” community event being organised by

Michele Delaney from 3.00pm – 9.00pm on 29SEP18. Make sure you head down there and

donate to the cause. Lots of fun to be had and great raffle prizes and live

music provided by The Roll – a Sydney band.

The Roll are staying with us for the weekend and will do an acoustic set

later on Saturday night plus a recovery session on Sunday 30SEP in the courtyard before the League Grand

Final Sunday night. We’ll have a sausage sizzle late
