You are all wonderful people

I would hate to see anyone get

Joke of the Month—The funeral

A funeral procession pulled into a cemetery. Several carloads of

family members followed a black truck towing a boat with a coffin in it. A passer-by remarked, "That guy must have been a

very avid fisherman."

"Oh, he still is," remarked one of the mourners. As a matter of

fact, he's headed off to the lake as soon as we bury his wife."

Ingredients: ¼ tsp gelatin 1 tsp water 1 ½ cups sugar ½ cups light corn syrup ½ cup water 1 tbsp baking soda (sifted)

Recipe of the Month: S’mores Dip in a Pan

Directions: Butter a 9x9 pan then dust with flour. Tap out excess flour. (or line with parchment paper!) In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over 1 tsp water and allow to bloom. In a medium stock pot with high sides, mix sugar, corn syrup and 1/2 cup water together. Heat over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil. Wash down any sugar crystals from the sides with a wet pastry brush. Clip on candy thermometer and heat to 310° F. Do not stir after you have clipped the thermometer on, the sugar will self stir. Remove from heat and let sit for two minutes, bubbling should subside. Add gelatin and whisk, be careful, the sugar syrup will bubble up. Sprinkle baking soda over syrup and whisk vigorously. Re-turn mixture to the heat and whisk for 30 seconds. The sugar will rise up in the pot, a lot! Quickly pour into prepared pan, it should come out in a big blob. Do not spread the mixture, just let it settle into the pan. Allow to cool completely (about 2 hours or overnight) before removing from the pan. Either break into odd pieces or cut into squares (this is a messy process!). To cut into squares - us-ing a serrated knife, score the candy at 1-inch intervals. Snap the candy apart at the score lines. Then score and break into squares. Melt chocolate melts in a double boiler (or bowl sitting above a pot of boiling water). Dip sponge candies in chocolate, tap off excess. Chill in the fridge to set the chocolate shell. Enjoy!

fantastic or fantastical [fan-tas-tik] adjective 1. conceived or appearing as if conceived by an unrestrained imagination; odd and remarkable; bizarre; grotesque: fantastic rock formations; fantastic designs.

2. fanciful or capricious, as persons or their ideas or actions: We never know what that fantastic creature will say next.

I was feeling amused with this word of the month. Fantastic is each and ever member at MRYC! We can read the description and each word re-minds you of someone here at the club. But it's not just our fantastic mem-bers, it's also our fantastic community, our fantastic property and our fan-tastic view. With so much being fantastic we need to choose wisely the po-tential member who wants to join. We have a fantastic clubhouse and tiki bar, we have a fantastic honor system and we can only vote in fantastic people. It may seem harsh but we must be prejudice.

Fantastic is a member who attends club functions, who participates in events, who will be apart of our fantastic community.

I look forward to hanging out with all of you fantastic folks!

In the May membership meeting Paul Brown generously

donated $1500.00 toward the bar stools in the main club

house.

The membership agreed to help Paul with the cause,

donate, and walk in this event.

I know MRYC will stand up and join in.

Ethanol and Your Boat

Thanks to all who spoke up! Over 22,000 comments were sub-mitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in response to a BoatUS Action Alert asking the Agency to assure an ade-quate supply of fuel that is safe for marine engines. While we have yet to hear what the final ethanol levels for 2015 and 2016 will be, the issue of even higher levels of ethanol being blended into gasoline continues to be discussed in Congress. BoatUS Government Affairs wants to learn more about your ex-perience with gasoline mixed with ethanol. Please take this short survey to help us understand the issues you may have faced re-garding fuel choices. You can also take action against unsafe ethanol blends in gaso-line by asking your Congressman to support House Bill 703 and your Senators to support Senate Bill 577.

As you have noticed over the past few weeks, the de-

cor in the Tiki Bar is changing ever so slightly. It's now

time to tie in the finishing touches.

We are looking for anything nautical to hang on the

ceiling of the pavilion. Anything you may have that can

bring more of a water atmosphere would be

great. This could be a fish net, shells, fish, old time rod

and reels, a ski or paddleboat.

Use your imagination!!

Drop whatever off to the club, attention Robbob, and

we'll surprise you to where we put it ;-)
