HRWF Special EventWelcome Guest Speaker Peter Friedman

    "The Threat of Islam to America"Friday, June 22, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

    (Note: No June meeting)

With all the Democrats' desperate attempts to assert aRepublican War On Women, they completely ignore avery real war on women that takes place every day, throughout the world in the name of Islam. With

burquas, hijabs, genital mutilation, forbiddingeducation and even driving, honor-killings occuring inour own country, and attempts to bring Sharia Lawinto our courts, theres real cause for concern.

The Kansas City Starreports that Gov. Sam Brownbackhas signed into law a bill aimed at keeping Sharia outof Kansas courts and government agencies.

What does it all mean? Are Muslim-Americanwomen protected by our laws? Or are theysubject to Sharia Law, even in this nation? What happens if it gains a foothold in ourcourts?

A Vietnam Veteran who has worked for theUS Defense Department and has workedundercover with the FBI for over 20 yrs,Peter Friedman has studied the Koran forover 40 yrs, and written an exclusiveIndex to the Koran.

The focus of his presentation is Islamand Women and will touch onSharia nance and the threatto America.

    Presidents Message

As the Lunar Module pilot on the Apollo 11space mission, with the rst lunar landing onJuly 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin was the secondperson to walk on the moon, after MissionCommander Neil Armstrong. Aldrin hadbrought with him a tiny communion kit, givenhim by his church. During the morning, he

radioed, Houston, this is EagleI would liketo request a few moments of silence. I wouldlike to invite each person listening intocontemplate for a moment the events of thelast few hours and to give thanks in his ownindividual way.

During the radio blackout, Aldrin took thecommunion elements and read John 15:5: Iam the vine, you are the branches. He whoabides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit. However, Aldrin had been asked not to readthe verse publicly because of a legal challengeNASA faced from famed atheist MadalynMurray OHair.

Our nation is suering from incidents like theone mentioned above and the politicallycorrect mania invading our country. When evilis applauded and truth and righteousnessscoed, beware.

We, as Republican women, who believe inworking for the best for America, must nevergive up and continue to pray that our nationwill once again be one nation under God.

Excerpts from the Republican Caucus-California State Senate

    Brieng Reporton State Management

Californias extraordinary natural resources brought wealth andstatehood in its pioneer days. It also provided cautionary lessons in theecological harm that can result when property rights are uncertain.

Today our resource management policies sit at the opposite extreme ofthose early generations, allowing enormous stores to lie virtuallydormant.

California produces just a fraction of what it is capable and a muchsmaller fraction of what its people use.

WOOD AND FOREST PRODUCTS:Californias forest lands cover over 30 million acres, nearly 1/3 of thestates land area. Between 1990 and 2008, timber harvests fell by about2/3. Today our state imports over 70% or more of its forest productsfrom Canada and the Northwest.

Also, on our private lands State regulations have made active forestryuncompetitive.

PETROLEUMFor generations, most of Californias massive oshore capabilities havebeen o limits. 10.1 billion barrels of proven reserves of crude oil situntapped o our coast. There is also the largest share of recoverableshale oil in the lower 48 estimated at 15.4 billion barrels worth in

Monterey/Santos formation in Central California.IN CONCLUSION

The much-lauded California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requiresas part of its review of products and programs an analysis of thecumulative impacts on the ecosystem. It is past time for the state tostep back and take a broader view of cumulative impacts of all itsresource policies, rather than in isolation, bill-by-bill, regulation-by-regulation.

My husband's last command in the Air Force was at Hill Air Force Basenear Salt Lake City. When we retired, we decided to stay in the areabecause we loved it and we were closer to family than we had everbeen.

I have been a huge fan of the Olympic games since college when weknew Olympic athletes. When we were stationed in Europe, I visitedmany of the places made famous to Americans from previous games, such as Grenoble, Garmisch, Innsbruck, Cortina and Sarajevo, to namea few.

When Salt Lake City won the bid to host the 2002 winter games, Iknew I wanted to be involved and answered the call for volunteers assoon as it was announced. I was one of a few dozen original volunteersand, by 2002, the number had swelled to 25,000.

The excitement was soon dashed by the horric scandal that brokeconcerning bribes and mishandling of funds. To save the games, theimage of Salt Lake and the USA required a leader of gigantic propor-tions to come in.

When Mitt Romney arrived, he was not only charged with xing thescal mess, but also faced with a city deated, embarrassed andnegative to the whole idea of continuing the massive job that layahead. Many thought it impossible. As he diligently revamped thestructure, he also had to work tirelessly with the international commu-nity to restore condence in Salt Lake and the USA. There was notime to put anything o, as February of 2002 would come and we hadto be ready. He was constantly leading the way, in support, encour-agement, and communication, with every level of a sta that wasgrowing every day. As his leadership moved us forward and thingsseemed to be on track, September 11th happened, and once again hewas challenged to massively revamp security for the games just sixshort months away. For his tireless commitment, he received not a

penny in salary and personally donated in the seven gures.

Having watched Mitt lead the saving of the Salt Lake games, I can'thelp but see the similarities right now with the country. He hasalready shown to me how capable he is to put this nation back on itscal feet, and also get us back believing in ourselves as "can do"Americans, not just groups of special interests to be pitted against oanother. I could tell you some of my personal experiences with Mitas I had many opportunities to see his leadership in action, and I amhappy to relate them any time anyone wants to "talk Mitt" with me

We all want the "perfect" candidate that can tick every box of ourpersonal belief system. At some point, however, we must decide ware the most important qualities that we as a party want in our nexpresident. As you can tell, I believe Mitt Romney is the right man withe qualities of leadership we need NOW with the mess this countryin. We need a leader that can bring our economy back, support ourbusinesses and military, never apologize for the US and give uscondence in the future. Some question his conservative credentialWe have the choice between the current oce holder and MittRomney. I think that answers the question. Our next president has tend this trumped up class warfare that is now being promoted and the leader of all of us. We will never all agree on everything, but weshould also not disagree with everything. There are times when wetake a dierent route to the same destination.

I recently saw a very apt description of Mitt Romney by Debra J.Saunders, the CONSERVATIVE columnist for theSF Chronicle. She wrothat "Mitt Romney is a conservative who understands that not everyois."

    Mitt Romney

Winning Texas on May 29, Mitt gained enough delegates to push him over the 1,144mark needed to formally secure the GOP nomination. So, whats he really like?
