National LegislationWatch out, Obama’s at it again. He brought us to the brink last August with doo

and gloom, saying failure to raise the national debt ceiling would cut education

our children, cut Social Security benets for our seniors, and cut the number of

police ocers … just to name a few of his supposed scenarios, if we didn’t insi

Congress raise the national debt ceiling. He got his way and the ceiling stands a

$15.194 TRILLION. Now Obama says we are only $100,000 BILLION from that

ceiling and he needs another $1.2 TRILLION!

The current debt owed by each and every American is already $132,744…that

$48,000 added since he became president, a 36% increase! Has your income ris

by 36% in the last three years…just to pay o the debt increase? I don’t think

But it likely has happened for Obama, his minions, and certain congressional

members who parlay insider information to make huge prots. As you probabl

know, Congress has made it LEGAL for themselves to do what is a CRIME for the

of us. Martha Stewart can’t be too happy about that.

There is a disconnect between what Americans want and what Obama is

determined to get. A current Rasmussen poll shows 77% of Americans want

DEFICITS CUT, 71% want SPENDING CUT, and 59% want TAXES CUT. What part oCUT doesn’t the president understand? Obama and Company are at it again,

blaming the Republicans. If congressional Republicans don’t pass his latest

demand, they will be blamed and ridiculed. If the bill is passed, Obama will tak

credit for saving us again! Outrageous, yet he is able to convince naïve,

uninformed, and yes, just plain stupid voters that he is working for us!

Our second president, John Adams, in the last year of his life, said,

“THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ENSLAVE A NATION.

ONE IS BY SWORD. THE OTHER IS BY DEBT.”

Thank you -- together we can do this!

As we go to pressJan. 4: A legal battle is shaping up over Barack Obama’s unconstitutionalpower grab, the unprecedented “recess” appointment of former Ohio AttyGen. Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Agefollowed by three more recess appointments - this time to the National LaRelations Board.

Both moves infuriated GOP leaders, who threatened legal action and warthat Obama was setting a dangerous precedent by ignoring the will of Congress, which was technically still in session.

The Hill reports that ‘The recess appointments broke with legal precedentthey while the Senate is holding regular pro forma sessions. Republicansinsist the Senate has not been in recess thanks to the seconds-long sessioheld every few days, but White House attorneys determined the procedurmove is a gimmick that can be ignored by the president.’

Speaker Boehner called the appointment an “extraordinary and entirelyunprecedented power grab,” and noted that the position “had not been for one reason: the agency it heads is bad for jobs and bad for the econom

President’s Message

e hear so much controversyregarding the “separation of church

and State.” It is as though members of theACLU have never studied our foundingdocuments or the way religion andmorality were viewed by governmentleaders during the birth of our nation.

An early American historian, W. P. Strick-land, commented on the necessity of theBible and preserving the freedom of religion.

“Who will charge the government withindierence to religion when the rst

Congress of the States assumed all therights and performed all duties of a Biblesociety long before such an institution hadan existence in the world?"

Part of George Washington’s FarewellAddress in 1796 included these powerfulwords. “Of all the dispositions and habitswhich lead to political prosperity, religionand morality are indispensable supports.”He also posed this question. “Where is thesecurity of property, for reputation, for life,

if the sense of religious obligation desertthe oaths of which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?"

How far we have strayed from the moralityset before us by those men of virtue, whoformed this nation under God. Our prayersmust include asking God for help to healour nation as it stands today.

ODE TO THE WELFARE STATE

This dates from a 1949 'pie-for-everybody speech' by Pres. Truma

continuing FDR's disastrous "New Deal." Put into the

Congressional Record by Rep. Clarence J. Brown (R-Ohio)

...true then and true today...

DEMOCRATIC DIALOG"Father, must I go to work?"

"No, my lucky son.

We're living now on Easy Street

on dough from Washington.

"We've left it up to Uncle Sam,

so don't get exercised.

Nobody has to give a damn--

We've all been subsidized!"

"But if Sam treats us all so well

and feeds us milk and honey;

Please, daddy, tell me what the hell

he's going to use for money?"

"Don't worry, son, there's not a hitch

in this here noble plan--

He simply soaks the lthy rich

and helps the common man."

"But, father, won't there come a time

when they run out of cash

And we have left them not a dime

when things will go to smash?"

"My faith in you is shrinking, son,

you nosy little brat!

You do too damn much thinking, boy,

to be a Democrat!"

DID YA KNOW?Christmas was declared a federal holiday

in the United States on June 26, 1870....

So, if the feds declared it a holiday, how can it now be

illegal to display Christmas scenes on their property???

We Christians need to le a class action suit and sue the ACLU

Democrat PartyRegistration Down

Number of Democrats Falls to All-Time Low:Rasmussen’s latest monthly sur vey of Partisan Trends shows thenumber of Republicans in the country increased by a percentagepoint in December, while the number of Democrats fell back twopoints to the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports.

Let’s get out there and Register MORE REPUBLICANS!

News from CFRWAdvocate Allison Olson notes the many successes of CFRW, (One of theexciting achievements was the passage of Prop 26. With this safety netDemocrats in Sacramento cannot raise taxes, fees, charges, or anythingelse they might disguise a levy as without a 2/3rds majority vote. Thisproposition has already saved the California tax payer from severalproposed tax increases and will prove to be useful again next year

during budget season. Another victory for Republican Women was thedemise of SB 810 (Leno, D-3), otherwise known as Universal Health-care for Californians.) but, Allison notes that our work is just beginning

2012 is a pivotal year, not just for the nation, but also for us here inCalifornia. The general election ballot will be tough to navigate withwhat will likely be a record number of propositions to vote on. Couplethat with a tension-lled legislative session and budget decit gap of biblical proportions and we are at an all-out war for our state’s future.

She says,"We need all hands on deck and all eyes keeping a watch onour government. As your CFRW Legislative Advocate, I urge you toremain educated and informed on the issues important to us as

Republican Women through our weekly Capitol Update. If there is a Calto Action in the Capitol Update, we must act immediately! That meansletters, emails, faxes, phone calls, and a bombardment of support oropposition depending on the issue. I know that we can make a dier-ence in 2012, and while a presidential change is necessary, we cannotoverlook the challenges in our state."

The SB 48 Fight Is Not OverIn early December, the Capitol Resource Institute and other pro-familyorganizations submitted an initiative to the Attorney General to countethe eects of SB 48. If you will recall, the referendum to repeal SB 48 fe

short of the signatures necessary to put the measure on the ballot. Butunfazed by the hurdle, the same organizations have this time led aninitiative eort. They hope to curb some of the harmful eects of SB 48

SB 48 mandates that by 2015 all social science textbooks from Kinder-garten to 12th grade include a “gay-history” chapter in publicallyfunded California schools. The initiative will assure “that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other minority gures are not excluded frominclusion in California curriculum while requiring accurate historicalportrayals of all individuals.”

Visit www.stopsb48.com for more information.Signature gatherers will be needed for this initiative soon, so

if you are interested in helping, please email theCFRW Legislative Advocate at [email protected].

"Republican Women Boots on the Road"will be held February 3-5, 2012 at the Manhattan Beach Marriott Hotel.

We are gearing up for a busy 2012 as California Federation of Republican Women to show the rest of the party how to elect a

Republican President. This kicko conference will set the tone forthe year as our workshops will help us prepare for the ght of a

lifetime. We cannot aord another four years of the currentPresident in the White House. We hope you can attend.

Predictions for 2012In The Wall St. Journal, Karl Rove predicts:■Republicans will keep the U.S. House, albeit with their 25-seatmajority slightly reduced.

■Republicans will take the U.S. Senate. Of the 23 Democratic seats upin 2012, there are at least ve vulnerable incumbents (Florida, Michi-gan, Missouri, Montana, Pennsylvania): The GOP takes two or three of these. With the announcement on Tuesday that Nebraska's Ben Nelsonwill retire, there are now seven open Democratic seats (Connecticut,Hawaii, North Dakota, New Mexico, Virginia, Wisconsin): The GOP takesthree or four. Even if Republicans lose one of the 10 seats they have up,they will have a net pickup of four to six seats, for a majority of 51 to 53.
