Who in the family do they act most like?Ryder acts more like his mom. He’s a little more reserved. Leo is going to be just like his dad. He’ll be the one who keeps us on our toes.

What do they want to be when they grow up?Well, at this moment, Leo isn’t thinking quite that far ahead. As for Ryder, well, right now he is mainly interested in counting and saying his abc’s. We aren’t quite sure yet what he wants to be, but we have no doubt they will change the world someday.

How did you meet?We met at the BCM at UT in 2010. We had a lot of mutual friends but we did not be-come friends until later that winter when we worked at Crossings summer camp to-gether. Our first date was on April 7, 2011. Yes, I remem-ber the date perfectly. I sur-prised her with a bouquet of a dozen red roses and a card, that she still has posted in her room. :)

How long have you been together? 2 years on April 24th.

Three things you love about Mackenzie?1) She loves Jesus Christ.2) She laughs at my jokes.3) I feel comfortable when I’m with her.

When is Mackenzie the most attractive?She is super cute when she is sleepy, but she is most at-tractive when she smiles.

What she does Mackenzie do that annoys you?Taking too long to get ready to go somewhere, I HATE being late.

My Love: I can’t wait to spend every day with you, struggle with you, argue with you, fight with you, and grow old with you. I’m thankful that you make me a better person, and drive me deeper into my relationship with Christ. I can’t wait to read scripture with you, to pray with you, to tithe with you, and to love Christ with you. I love you.

How did you meet? Chris learned of my (17th) birthday party and asked if he could come. I yelled out my car window “Sure!”- Little did I know that this was the beginning of one of the most important relationships of my life!

How long have you been together? We’ve been together 10 years, married for 5.

Top three things that you love about Chris?1. How he makes me laugh- even when I don’t want to!2. His caring heart for his family, friends, patients (he’s a nurse), and all animals! Even the creepy crawlies in our house…..3. I love that he is truly my best friend, someone I look forward to sharing every single day with.

When is Chris the most attractive? When he wears his Army uniform,. Not only does he look so handsome and strong, but it reminds me of how proud I am of him for serving his country.

Funniest moment together? When I went to her house for the first time her mom offered me a Peep, the little marshmallow candy thing, and I had never had one before. How did the two of you meet and how long have you been together? We met at the Financial Aid office at ETSU. Ryan was already working there, and then I started working there in Nov. 2008. Ryan definitely tried to get my number the first day I came in.

Caroline, did he sweep you off your or did you play hard to get? I definitely played hard to get. I didn’t want to put all my eggs in one basket. I could obviously tell since the first time I saw him that he was super cute, but I didn’t want to let on. My mom always told me that, “If a guy is in-terested in you, he will pursue you,” and I’ve always stuck to that. Once I gave in a bit and we started hanging out, he definitely turned on the charm, but he had great manners. He would open my car doors and always made it about me. With Ryan, I knew chivalry wasn’t dead!

Ryan, was it love at first sight? It felt so right and at such a right time in my life. Caroline was a breath of fresh air and so different than any other girl that I had ever met. She influenced me to go all in and love her for the rest of my life with her outgoing personality and a smile that could brighten up the darkest of rooms.

Tell us about your first date. My mom invited us to go to the East v. West basketball game with her, so that was our first date! [laughs] It seems so boring, but there’s always so many people at that game, so it was a big deal because it was the first time people would see us together as a couple.

Caroline, how did he pop the question? I am a super nosey person and I hate surprises. For Ryan to have pulled this off without me knowing, he had to be very sneaky. It was a random Wednesday night, and we were just getting back from dinner at one of our favorite places, Mellow Mushroom. He was looking at some things on his computer on the bed and told me to come check out what he had done. He said that he had made a slideshow with music of pictures of us since we had started dating, and he asked me to watch it with him. So we started watching the pictures with the music to the background, and I had no idea that the computer’s web cam was recording the whole thing. As the first three songs played it became more and more sentimental, and then the last song came on, which was “Marry Me” by Train. I started thinking in my head, “Is it possible he would propose?” But I just shut the thought out. Five seconds later, he’s down on one knee, asking me to marry him! Of course, I start balling hysterically, and all I can do is shake my head yes because no words will come out of my mouth. The best is that he surprised me, and because he recorded it, we can always play back that moment.Ryan: I don’t really think I realized I was nervous until I watched the recorded video back and sawmy eyes getting ready to pop out of my head with uncontrollable nerves haha

Any bride-zilla moments during the preparation for the wedding? Yes, to be honest, she had quite a few mental breakdowns regarding the planning process. Neither of us realized how stressful wedding planning really is; there are so many little details. Since we had a destination wedding, we couldn’t just run to any place we needed to check something out because we were five hours away.

Tell us about the wedding. We were married on May 26, 2012 at The Charleston Marriott Hotel in downtown Charleston, SC, in front of our close friends and family. Two special guests at our wedding were our Siberian huskies, Samson and Mya. Samson wore a bow tie and stood up with the groomsmen, while Mya wore a tutu and walked down the aisle with the bridesmaids; they are our babies, and we couldn’t leave them out.

When is Caroline most attractive? In many different levels. Physically, I have always been extremely attracted to her; she’s an extremely active person who puts a lot of hard work into herself. On an emotional level, Caroline really tries hard to communicate with me about everything. The fact that we can sit down, have a glass of wine together and digress about our day and share how much we love each other really makes me even that much more in love with her.

What’s one thing that each of you do that annoys the other the most?Caroline: This is an easy one. He vacuums WAY too much!! [laughs] But if this is the worst thing that annoys me, I think I’ll be able to manage.Ryan: Caroline leaves the toothpaste behind the faucet.

Top three things that you love about him? 1. His ambition and drive to do well and be able to provide for his family,2. He always works hard to impress me,3. He has so much empathy, which definitely makes up for what little I have.

Top three things you love about her? Her ambition would be at the top of my list. She has always been a huge inspiration and driving force for me to want to provide and succeed in everything I do. Second would be her willingness to love me and support me without question, which makes me feel important and wanted no matter what. Third thing is her beautiful personal-ity, which is far more diverse and amazing than any girl I have ever met.

What’s the best Valentine’s present that Ryan has given you so far? It’s actually every Valentine’s that this happens, but he always makes me a home-made card with a typed letter inside. Ryan has always been way better at expressing how he feels, but I always feel extra special when I know he’s taken the time out of his busy schedule to make something just for me instead of buying a generic card.

How did you meet?Tim worked next door to where my mom works. I went to visit my mom one day and he saw me walk across the parking lot, he later asked my mom who I was and then every time I would go by he would leave notes on my car trying to get me to go to dinner with him. It didn’t take long for me to agree.

How long have you been together?6 years total, married 3 1/2 years.

What you love most about Tim?1. His drive and ambitious attitude2. His child like spirit3. He always makes me smile

When is he the most attractive? When he is playing with our kids. He always has a smile on his face that melts my heart.

What annoys you most?His collection of empty Copenhagen cans every where.

Funniest moment together?We both laugh when we look back on our wedding day. In the middle of the ceremony, his nerves were high and I was about to cry. Ashton one of our ring bearers stands up and stomps his foot and yells “I’m done” then walks off. We still laugh at that moment.

How did you meet?We met 5 years ago through a mutual friend and within a few months we were dating.

You’ve been together?4 1/2 years more or less.

What you love about Travis?1. He’s tall, dark and handsome.2. He has a great sense of humor.3. He has a big heart.

When is he most attractive?When he’s goofing off with our daughter. His eyes twinkle and he loses himself in whatever game they’re playing. It’s like he’s a kid again; you can tell there is noth-ing but sheer joy in his heart when he is with her.

What annoys you most?He uses furniture polish on our hard wood floors. They become as treacherous and slippery as an ice skating rink! Socks = wipe-out.

Funniest moment together?When I was pregnant I craved sweets, once in Asheville, we stopped into the Mast General Store and bought some candy. I got some wax bottles, “Nik-L-Nips” that have the juice inside and offered Travis some. Travis, not shying away from trying some-thing new, popped the whole thing in his mouth and chewed and swallowed a handful of wax. Afterwards, there was much gag-ging on his part, followed by a quick demonstration from myself on how to correctly eat it.

How did you meet?I went to work for the Country Club as the Executive Chef when Wally was President of the Board. Then, when he became the Club House Manager 2 years later, I sort of trained him and showed him around. We made it all happen and made a pretty darn good team. Who knew that we would make an even better team in life!

How long have you been together?About three years.

What you love most about Wally?1. He loves great food!2. His integrity, kindness and thoughtfulness.3. He is an awesome kisser!

When is he most attractive?He is always so surprisingly thoughtful of me, and I love him in a nice jacket and tie, pouring me a glass of wine.

What he does that annoys you ?He is a bit of a pack rat, and I am definitely not!

Funniest moment together?Singing “Grease” songs in the car on one of our first dates. (I am a terrible singer, he is not!) and almost bumping heads trying to pick up my wedding ring off the ground during our cer-emony.

When is he most attractive? I’m the most attracted to him when I see him being a great father.

The thing he does that annoys you most? He undresses at the door when he gets home from work .

Funniest moment together?We were on our way to Pigeon Forge and saw a tanker with coffee beans on the back with the lettering “follow me to Pilot.” I thought it was hauling coffee, and Scott (knowing bet-ter) kept on about it for weeks, I believed him.
