FMDP is an all-volunteer, community based as a nonprofit orga-nization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of our Morristown dog park. We plan to have activities to benefit our park and its members, such as pet safety, rabies and vaccinations clinics, fundraising, responsible pet ownership, pet education and fun. FMDP will strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for our canine pets to enjoy off leash exercise and fun while their owners are giving a chance to be a part of a community of other pet owners with shared interests.
We are currently waiting or the IRS to approve our non-profit ap-plication; the state of TN has already approved the “Friends of the Morristown Dog Park”.
The Morristown dog park was opened in March 2012 with the expectations of dog lovers in mind. We started with a ball field and thru modifications we have a wonderful open area for dogs to play. Dogs of all sizes and ages gather here to Play. We have planted trees and put up shade systems for everyone to enjoy. Other amenities are sand pit, fire hydrant, water station, and kiddie pools. Coming soon is dog pools, (they are shaped like bones), and tunnel/ramp for more adventures.
When folks think of a dog park I am pretty sure fellowship doesn’t’ come to mind, however the humans enjoy the trips as much as the dogs. New friendships are made all around.
