Well done girls on a fantastic achievement! As we are unable to hold assemblies for the foreseeable future all student awards will be presented on Fridays during class time. COVID-19 As you may be aware the Secretary of the Department of Education, Mark Scott issued a press release outlining a number of measures that schools will take in relation to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The information can be accessed on our school website using the following link: https://bit.ly/39RBee8 We are aware that this is quite an unsettling time with a lot of uncertainty. It is important to reassure students that these measures are being taken to slow the spread of the virus to enable our healthcare system to best support those people who are vulnerable to becoming very ill. As a result all school excursions and a number of planned activities have been postponed until further notice. This includes: • School assemblies; Off-site school sport including all District and Western trials and the school Cross Country; • The Easter Hat Parade. It is very important that all students and staff are following proper hygiene measures and we are actively promoting this at the school. Our school will continue to follow the guidelines from the Department of Education and will update families with information as it comes to hand. Marvellous Merit Level Students Congratulations to Jayda Dalton and Philippa Sims who are our first students to reach Merit Level this year. Well done girls on a fantastic achievement! OUR STUDENTS OF THE WEEK Our Students of the week are: Chloe Thomas for being on task and committed at all times; Maeve Halvorson for increased confidence in participating in class discussions; Hayley Sheard for consistent high achievement; Gracie Fry for outstanding effort in all areas; Emily Wray and Sienna Shipley for effort in class; Taylor Carpenter for excellent peer support; Lindsey Johnson for being respectful and helpful; Zach Cromie and Bailey Sewell for a mature and consistent approach to all school work and Caiden Ezzy for engagement in all class activities.

OUR ASSEMBLY AND PLAYGROUND AWARD WINNERS Noah Davis and Abby Bromfield are congratulated for being Respectful Safe Learners. They both received a voucher from the canteen to thank them. OUR WINNERS OF THE CLASS SHIELD Congratulations to 4/5 White who are the winners of this week’s class shield. They are congratulated for being Respectful Safe Learners. Regan Grant and Bray Bracken collected the shield on behalf of 4/5 White.

The following children will be presented with their Striving Higher Awards in their classrooms this Friday, 20th March. 5 Awards – Merit Level Olivia Bednal, Kody Hearne, April Howard, Alexia Mazzotti, Danny Henderson, Mason Taylor.

LIBRARY NEWS

WOW! Our school has raised an incredible $3000 dollars towards resources for the library and school thanks to YOUR generosity at our recent Book Fair and Grandparents Day. The students have been busy giving me their ‘wish lists’ of what I need to buy. Now I just need some wonderful parents to help cover them all….. Nichole Wade Teacher Librarian Raglan Public School
