These rooms have been closed and the classes relocated into our school hall. Although these classrooms and library are closed until carpets have been replaced, the school is operational. I must admit, it is amazing to work with such a competent and wonderful group of people. This morning, the RPS A Team went into action and worked together to ensure there was minimal disruption to our students. I thank the quick thinking of Miss Stewart who came early to school and made calls re the blockage which enabled plumbers to attend to it immediately. I also thank our cleaner Mrs Corby for notifying Miss Stewart so promptly and helping to clean up. I am also appreciative of Mr Wade’s help. He assisted with the clean up as well as moving furniture into the hall. I thank our staff for their flexibility and getting on with the job of setting up the classrooms. Finally, I thank the students for their resilience, help and understanding and way in which they worked with us. School Uniform Review RPS is currently reviewing its school uniform, both boys and girls, and we would like your thoughts, ideas and opinions. To have your say, weve attached a survey to this newsletter which asks the question What would you change about our school uniform and why? Please return your survey by Friday, 17 th June or come speak to your child’s teacher. We’d love to hear from you. Leaving School Grounds A reminder to parents and carers to exit the school grounds in the afternoon through the Godfrey Street gate. It is of concern that children and parents leave school through the staff car park or Nelson Street gate which is for bus children only. It would cause great distress to see any member of our whole school community get hurt. By leaving through the correct gate, it minimises the danger to you and your children. PRINCIPALS RECOGNITION I would like to recognise Mrs Urquhart and Mrs Staines for their support of so many of our children at RPS. They go about their business quietly and efficiently. I thank them for their hard work, patience and ability to be so flexible. Working together as partners in the education of your child. Congratulations to 3/4C who are the winners of this week’s class shield. They are congratulated for proudly wearing their school uniform. Sophie Falconer and Jonathan Agland accepted the shield on behalf of 3/4C.

CWA Public Speaking Competition Last Tuesday, Luci Steffen, Bronte Cullen-Ward, Vsna Saban and Layla Stark competed in the CWA Public Speaking competition at All Saints College. On the day, there were over 100 students competing from public, private and independent schools. It was a difficult competition as there were many skilled public speakers our students competed against. The girls reported that having 3 or 4 judges listening to their speeches was fairly nerve wracking. Our team found it to be a worthwhile experience as they were given tips and ideas for improvement in the presentation section of the day. We congratulate Luci, Bronte, Vsna and Layla for their bravery, taking a risk, being involved and giving their speeches their absolute best.

The following children will be presented with their Striving Higher Awards at the assembly on Friday, 17th June at 12pm. 5 Awards Claire Wilson, Brodie Edwards, Lucy Downey, Cooper Smith, Quinlan Rogers, Gemma Cashman, Brooke Nixon, Jake Evans, Lachlan Fitzsimmons, Kirsten Bednal, Reece Urquhart, Rohan Brown, Rhys Porter, Joseph Allen, Eve Robson, Kailea Isbister, Jay Davis, Rudi Schwartz, Ivan Slavicek, Charlotte Turner, Bowen Cromie, Ashton Corby, Jett Carter, Emily Wray, Kody Smith, Darcy Williams, James McAlpine, Maeve Halvorson, Eliza Dwyer, Natasha Dolbel, Lachlan Vallis, Layla Stark, Clara Bromfield, Jack Fox, Jordan Geale, Ben Halvorson, Laylah Faulkner, Joshua Nott, Gabby Davis, Maddy Cutler, Brodie Robinson, Kara Stark. SCHOOL NEWS RAGLAN PUBLIC SCHOOL BIGGEST MORNING TEA POSTPONED – NEW DATE TO BE CONFIRMED. Our Biggest Morning Tea event which was scheduled for Thursday, 9th June has had to be postponed due to classes being conducted in the hall. We will let you know as soon as a new date for this event is set. PSSA SOCCER REPORTS Last Monday our girls’ soccer team played Bathurst Public School at Police Paddock. It was very windy which made it much harder to kick the ball. The final score was 2-4 going Bathurst Public’s way. We were winning the first half of the game but Bathurst Public came back stronger in the second half. The wind was against us second half so it was very difficult for us. Our 2 goals were scored by Lara Edwards and Charlie-Mai Fox. However, we kept our heads high throughout the whole game. The team should be very proud of their amazing efforts. Well done Raglan girls! Report by Charlie-Mai Fox and Hannah Adams Last week the boys went to Police Paddock to play soccer against Bathurst Public. The boys worked well together as a team with Jake scoring a goal which saw us tied with Bathurst Public in the first half. We showed great teamwork and we committed to the game until the whistle was blown. The boys showed great sportsmanship. We were proud of the hard work and effort we put into the game. The final score was 1-5 their way. Report by Jhye Akroyd and Lachlan Martin
