In Scripture, namealwaysreferstothena-tureor thecharacterorthe identity of the per-son.AndwhenwethinkofthenameofGodwemust always associateit with holiness, purity,righteousness,sacrifice,justice, mercy, grace,loveandcompassion. The writer of Psalm80 asks “revive us,” or“quicken us” and “re-store us that we maybe saved.” Surely, GodwilldothisbecauseHewantstodothis.ButwecannotexpectHimtodothisunlesswearewillingtoidentifywithHischar-acter and repent andbecomeasHeis.Ifwewantthingstorevive,re-vivalmustbeginineachofus.Sower Ministries.org

Aswebegin,letmesay,wepraisetheLordforagoodattendanceandforagoodsermondeliveredbyCainAdkinson,thispastLord’sDayatWestIrvine.Wedidhopethatthroughthisarticleandpersonalinvitations,youtoowillwanttocomeandcheckusout. Inourlessontoday,Iwilltackletheproblemthatmanyhavebeenheardtosay,“Youcannotjudgeme!”Now, if they may be referring to the final Judgment, Iwouldhavetoagreeandsayyouareright,butatthe final Judgment, only Christ the eternal Judge will have a final say in all things. Letusknowthis,thatmanytimeswemaymissthepointifweleaveouttheword,‘determines.’InMat-thew 7:1-2,ourLordhasgivenuntousthesewordsoftruth,saying,“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” But, then he goes on to explain to us by saying, “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged . . .”2 Corinthians 5:10tellsusclearlythattherewillbea Judgment to come before Jesus our Lord. Romans 2:16 reaffirms this truth. Sothen,makingpersonaljudgmentsiswhenwearelookingoutwards;butbeforewedo,we’dbet-terlookinward.NoticeinRomans 2:1, “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou con-demnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.”Sothen,weneedtobesureourownhouseisinorderbeforewecondemnsomeoneelse. But,thenIsaidalreadythattheworddetermina-tion is a first cousin to making judgment, for the ap-plicationaluseofbothofthemmustbeestablishedinviewofwhattheBiblesays.NoticeinJohn 12:47, “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.” All Jesus is saying is, that man is here upontheearthinatimeofatrialperiodtohopefully

hear Jesus and obey him until death. And, after this period of life, a final judgment is pending for sure. Revelation 20:11-15 tells of it. And then verse 15 confirms verse 14. Jesus says. Hereheisspeakingofourtenurehereonearth.“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”(Verse 48 of John 12) Sothen,wearealllivinginaperiodofmakingdeterminationconcertingeveryaspectandactionoflife.Forinstance,ifIdesiretomakeHeavenmyhome,thereisonlyonewaytomakeit.InJohn 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”Acts 4:12says,“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” So,thestatementstandsstrongandalone.Man’sreligionthathasitshopesupontheteachingsofmenthatdonothavethetrueteachingsofourLordisadangerouswaytolive.Ifwecouldnotmakeajudg-mentordeterminationbasedupontheBible,wewouldhavenohopeatallofbeingvindicatedattheJudgment. So, the Bible was given us by the Lord so thatwemightreacharightconclusionaboutoursal-vation,ourmannerofworship,thenamewewor-shipunder,thetruthsweattempttokeep.Allthesearejudgmentswemustfaceeachdayofourlives.So,asapreacheroftheBible,Ihavetomakedetermina-tionsbasedupontheactingofone’smanneroflife,andImustmakethembasedupon“whatsayeththeLord.”So,asagospelpreacher,Icanmakejudgmentsordeterminationsbythekindofheartonehas,be-cause Jesus has said in Matthew 12:33-34, “the tree is known by his fruit”andalso,“out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”So,then,wecanproceedtomakejudgmentsrelatedtowhatonemaydoandwhatonemaysay.But,allowmetosaythis,personaljudgmentsshallalwaysbedonewithde-siretohelpothersseetheirsinsandtellthemwhattheycandotohavethemforgivenandremoved.Un-lessthisisthepreacher’sgoal,hehasnoreasontopreach.Visitwithussoon.Wewilltrytodotheegood.
