series of meetings last week to discuss the next year’s elec­tions and tlie monitor situation. Those who wish to run have subm itted forms to the present members.

Golf TeamThe MCS golf te;mi has

played several games this year. May 11 MargaretviUe defeated Stamford, 3-1. May 14 there was a three-way meet with ^ o x b u ry and Stamford. JVIar- garetville was defeated 3-2 by Stam ford and 4-l_ by Roxtaui^. MargaretviUe played Stamford

again on May 19 and the score was tied at 2-2.

Members o f ' the team are Randy Kittle, Richard Rottkov, Nel-son Delameter, John Fen­ton and B arry Holden. The coaches are Mr. Solomon and Mr. Finnigan.

Mrs. A tkins’ fifth graders are doing plays in English. Sev­eral of the eighth grade girls helped Mi's. W agner’s kinder­garten make cookies for snack time. The middle school teach­ers are visiting other middle schools throughout the state.

MusicOn May 10 Mr. Winslow took

Linda Baessler, Carol W hite and Charles Bertolino to One- onta for a musical rating. The three received a rating of A on their grade 2 clarinet trio, “Three of a Kind.”

The junior and senior bands, under the direction of Mr. Winslow, gave a concert May 22.

The John Philip Sousa award and Improvement awards were presented to Janice Kelly and Anne Sluiter, resjiectively. Mary Elliott, Marilee Todd and Ja n ­ice Kelly were given special recognition in the form of pins for this, their last year in band.

Rhoda Ann Schebesta was born In the MargaretviUe hos­p ital M arch 18, 1952, to Mr. and Ml'S. Rudy Schebesta.

Rhoda’s hobbies are reading, cooking, gardening and listen­ing to the radio. She plans to a ttend a business school and ex­pects to become a secretary.

Rhoda likes modern music and her favorite group is Smith. H er favorite iiooks are “Valley of the Dolls” “Of Mice and Men,” and “In Cold Blood.”

During her freshm an and sophomore years Rhoda was in the operetta. She was a mem­ber of girls sports team s and FHA as a sophomore. All through high school, Rhoda has been an active m ember of the chorus.

w ard Spicer died early Satu r­day morning in MargaretviUe Memoi'ial hospital, where she had ibeen taken the previous Tuesday suffering from a heart a ttack . ■

A lberta N orton Spicer was born in New York May 30, 1904. 'Twenty-three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Spioer bought a home on Maple avenue in this village, where they , have since lived.

She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales church and Our Lady of LaSalette Society of Phoenicia.

Funeral services were held a t St. Francis de Sales church Monday morning. ’ In term ent was in the St. F rancis de Sales cemetery a t Allaben.

Beside her husband, there survive two daughters, Mrs. Jane W hitaker of Dunn Loring, Va., and Mrs. Dorothy Rogers of E ast Rockaway, L. I., 13 grandchildren and two brothers, George Norton of Valhalla and Joseph Norton of the Bronx.
