Job Title: Community Alliance to Promote Education (C.A.P.E.) Assistant Department: Education Date Last Revised: 12/8/2008 This description is intended to indicate the essential responsibilities of the position. It is not intended to be all-inclusive nor does this limit management’s right and responsibility to determine work assignments, reassignments, priorities, etc. Position Goals: Carry out the mission statement of MOMs through: 1. Coordinate the bi-weekly C.A.P.E. 2. Planning, implementing and evaluating MOM’s daily programs and activities Supervision Received: Supervised by Monique Armstrong the Executive Director Supervision Exercised: Supervises 10 staff members and 5 teachers for a total of 15 employees Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Program Development and Delivery a. Plans, directs, and supervises programs b. Leads the development and implementation of the educational programs with the assistance of the curriculum committee 2. Organizational Management a. Carries out all policies set by the Executive Director b. Ensures that the educational program is in compliance with state standards c. Provides leadership of staff, volunteers and students assigning work effectively d. Responsible for recruiting and training volunteers 3. Human Resource Management a. Oversees the hiring, termination, and training of 15 employees as well as job evaluation and reviews 4. Community Relations a. Obtain funding through grants for salary incentives b. Works closely with the Executive Director to pursue media opportunities 5. Relationships a. Maintain frequent contact with parents, tutors, volunteers, and teachers b. Occasional contact necessary with program specialists, donors, and principals Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : 1. Communication 2. Research 3. Some Technical 4. Office Equipment Use a. Must be able to proficiently use a computer, copier, printer, and telephone, and hand tools b. Occasionally may use faxes and projectors Position Requirements : Education - Bachelor’s Degree in related field Experience - 5 – 10 years of related experience Physical - Occasionally lifting may be necessary though moving, loading, and unloading Other - Valid driver’s license, certification in teaching/training, ability to work non-standard hours and more than 40 hours a week
