What is New Controller Platform?

New compact controller solution for CENTUM CS3000 R3FIO based controller with I/O node expansion– Total 4 I/O node, One is CPU node

Provides full scalability from a single node system to a super large DCS solution in the single architecturePerfect platform for existing Micro-XL migration pathThis development is clear proof of continuous functional upgrading of CENTUM series

Recommended Customers Example

Small scale plants– Designed approx. 100 to 500 I/O points per FFCS

Distributed process units application– Independent maintenance is available

Micro-XL users– Compatible size and I/O modules provides a cost

effective migration offering without touching field wiring

Foundation Fieldbus trial users– Adding FFCS to the existing RIO CS3000 to utilize in

integrated FF solution– The cost for minimum system configuration is

attractive, so it becomes easier to adopt FF as a test in plant

What is the advantage against Delta V

EPM Delta V MD (1)– Single choice of controller with small

application capacity – only 500 tags. • FFCS has 2500 function blocks. Free combination

of FFCS and KFCS.

– Small memory capacity – 14MB. • FFCS has 32MB large memory.

– Limited scalability up to 100 stations (node) in system with max. 30000

What is the advantage against Delta V

EPM Delta V MD (2)– I/O rack extension is up to 8 nodes with 8

I/Os each, but tag capacity is still max. 500. No remote I/O capability is available.

• Three extra I/O rack and full remote I/O capability are available on FFCS.

– Card Density generally less than FIO

Comparison with Delta V

267mm

MD controller FFCS Controller( CPU Node )

165mm

Field wiring cable space is necessary below of node.

Power cable space is necessary above of node.

The height is greater than MD, but the required space is similar.– Extra cable space is unnecessary for

FFCS.– When MD uses external terminal,

cabinet space factor becomes similar to FFCS.

What is the advantage against PKS

Honeywell PKS C200 (1)– Slow control switch over and it takes 500m

sec.• FFCS has bumpless switch over and performs

within 100 micro sec.

– C200 control highway is to be replaced with Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE) between server and controller in R200 (Dec). ControlNet will be maintained for the I/O bus. FTE is still just commitment.

• FFCS uses reliable high performance Vnet.

What is the advantage against PKS

Honeywell PKS C200 (2)– Controller-level redundancy is supported

through rack-to-rack fail over. Redundant controller configuration requires two control box –master and back up which has identical module configuration.

Pricing

To achieve future single architecture system, FFCS price is set to cover CS 1000 price zone.– FFCS hardware price is same as standard

type PFCS.– Special software pack* is introduced for

entry level users. (LHSBEPK-S0 is for operation, -S1 is for operation and builder.)

– The pack assists in opening the door for potential new customers when competing in low price settings.

*: only for FFCS and up to 3 stations

Notes for Order Placement

When I/O node extension is made to FFCS, I/O node (ANB10x, ANR10x, ANR11x) with option code /NDEL must be placed the order.– I/O node is common model for both KFCS

and FFCS, therefore /NDEL option must be specified for FFCS. (Node extension license is bundled with node hardware.)
