WHERE CHILDREN LEARN, GROW THRIVE At the Y, we regard each child as a unique individual who needs to be understood, guided, encouraged and appreciated. At this early age, play is a child’s most important form of learning and development. We provide programs and activities where children learn, explore, develop athletic skills, build a positive self-image and develop social relationships with other children.

Help your child be kindergarten ready. Enroll them in a YMCA pre-k programs today.

2016 WINTER/SPRING SESSIONSPRE- K PROGRAM (0-5)

PRESCHOOL/EARLY LEARNINGPreschool is an exciting time as children embark on new adventures in the world of learning. At the YMCA, we regard each child as a unique individual who needs to be understood, guided, encouraged and appreciated. Our program provides activities where children learn, explore, build a positive self-image and develop strong social and emotional relationships. The Y's program encourages children to explore their creativity through multi-sensory experiences and creates a language-rich environment to promote and foster a love of reading. Children are exposed to art, music, math and science as well as develop expressive and receptive language and gross motor skills.

PRESCHOOL/EARLY LEARNING ENRICHMENTJoin us for our Preschool Enrichment Programs!

Winter/Spring II:

Mighty Math: Join the fun as we use our brain strength to crunch some numbers! Mighty Math will help your little learner expand their mind in a fun mathematical way!

Fabulous Fairy tales: Let's get lost in a far away land, or take a magical journey filled with adventure. These timeless stories will help children learn valuable life lessons, reinforce various skills, and also to "visit" other places and people. Come join me for a fun and imaginative class on fairy tales.

Where in the World is Mrs. Soldano? Come join me as we travel around the world in 8 days. We will be traveling to different countries to learn about their culture, language, art, cooking, and so much more! Each week we will go home with a "souvenir craft" from the country we visited.

No Cooking Required: Put on your apron and step into the kitchen. Together we will make fun and healthy snacks that we can eat in class. The children will be following a step-by-step process that allows them to successfully complete their delicious snack by themselves.

The Lunch Bunch: Here's a great chance for your Preschooler to extend their day and have fun with friends. Children eat lunch, play, create a craft, and share stories while you enjoy some extra "down time." If weather permits we will go outside.

Spring I:

Take Me to the Moon: Let's go on an imaginary trip to outer space. Each week we will learn and discover all we can about a planet in our solar system.

Classic Caldecott Creations: Join us as we dive deeper into some of our favorite Caldecott winner books! We will be taking a look at the author's style of writing and artwork, and then make our own creations in the same way!

Super Science: Give your child a head start on Science with simple experiments and activities that have been designed specifically for young Scientists!

ABC Artists: We will be creating masterpieces from the Alphabet! Each week will be a new original work of art starring the Amazing Alphabet!

Private Personal Training Packages: Achieve your fitness goals through one-on-one training sessions and coaching from a trainer. Your personal trainer will work with you and your schedule to develop a personalized water fitness program.

Private Swim Lesson Packages: Accommodate the busy schedules of both parents and children. We work with all abilities, concentrating on the needs of the swimmers.

Semi-Private Swim Lesson Packages: These are the same as the private swim lessons but have two participants in the class. We ask that you find the partner for this class.

Make Your Own Group: Do none of the group times work with your schedule? Make your own group, 3-6 participants, with your friends or family and we will provide an instructor who can teach at a time that works for all. We encourage that the participants have the same ability levels.

DID YOU KNOW The YMCA invented body building?

The first YMCA buildings constructed with gymnasiums opened in 1869. In 1881, Boston YMCA staffer Robert J. Roberts coined the term “body building” and developed exercise classes that anticipated today’s fitness workouts.

NTHE Y. SO MUCH MORE™ At the Y we are more than a gym. We are a cause dedicated to building strong children, families and communities—inside and out. This includes making our programs available to all regardless of need—because at the Y, everyone belongs. You can help us in the cause. Change a life by making a gift to the YMCA. Because membership dues and program fees support our daily operations, your gift will go directly to serving children and families in need.

The impact of your gift will be felt when:• A kindergartner starts school ready to learn because

he attended the Y’s early learning center.• Kids have a safe, nurturing environment to

go to after school and in the summer.• A parent spends quality time with their child while playing basketball.• A teen receives tutoring and mentoring to help them

succeed in school and prepare for college.• A child loses weight–and enjoys it–because at the Y, exercise is play.
