sentence; “If you are waiting to check in at the airport and you change lines what will usually happen?”

Activity 2: Read the following text.

IT ALWAYS HAPPENS!If you are in a check-in line and you change to another line that is moving more quickly what will happen? The line you were in before will suddenly start moving. What will happen if you take your umbrella because you think it’s going to rain later? It won’t rain of course. It will only rain if you forget to take your umbrella. These are examples of Murphy’s Law which says “If there is something that can go wrong it will go wrong.”

Murphy’s Law took its name from captain Edward Murphy an American aerospace engineer from the 1940’s. He was trying to improve safety for pilots flying military planes. Not surprisingly he got a reputation for always thinking of the worst thing that could happen in every situation. Here are some more examples of Murphy’s Law.

June 12th My Last Book Review for this year! What is a book review?Book reviews answer a BIG QUESTION, given to you, about the book. When your teacher reads the Book Review they should be able to see your responses to these:1. Summary of the book. 2. The answer to the big question. 3. What you think of the book. 4. What your learned from the book.

Now, since you will be turning in your English reading books, you will do this last activity following the instructions below. Remember what we talked about following ALL the instructions. For this book review you will make a PPT choosing your favorite book that you read during the year.

InstructionsSlide 1: Insert a picture of the cover of the book and write a title and your name on this slide. Slide 2: You will write the title of the book and its author and you will include a short biography of the author; use own words. No copy & paste information is permitted. Slide 3: Write the name of the main characters (2-3) and describe them.
