• Roman families had statues representing their ancestors or family members who have passed away in their homes.

Roman wall painting: frescoThe fresco - A fresh wet layer of plaster is applied to a prepared wall surface. The pigments used in the painting is mixed with water so that it soaks into the plaster. When dry, a chemical bond forms between the paint and the wall surface and they permanently fuse together. Frescos were painted on the walls of houses.

Mosaic is the art of creating images with small pieces of colored glass, stone or other material. The Romans were especially fond of mosaic for flooring.
