Quealy In 1366 St. Athanasius wrote: “The fifty days from the Sunday of the Resurrection to Pentecost Sunday are celebrated in joy and exultation as one feast day, indeed as one great Sunday.” At every Mass we commemorated the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ, yet during this season we emphasize the miracle of Easter morning. Please mark your calendars: Ascension Thursday is May 10th - A Holy Day of Obligation. Pentecost is Sunday, May 20th. God Bless. Fr. Quealy
In the Beatitudes, Jesus teaches us to act with mercy, compassion and love. Help the Cardinal’s Appeal apply the Beatitudes throughout our communities. To date, 64 families have donated $ 17,265 to the Appeal effort in our parish. Please join them in order for us to meet our goal of $144,000. Pledge envelopes are at the doors of the church. Let us show our strength in faith, in unity, and in Jesus’ call to action.

On-line registration for the Annual Men’s Club Golf Outing is open at: OLSGolfOuting.eventbee.com The Golf Outing will be held on Thursday, May 10,’18 at Westchester Hills Golf Club. This great event begins with check-in & lunch from 11am-12:30pm; shotgun start at 1pm; cocktails/appetizers/dinner in main dining room from 5:30-7pm and the awards program, raffles, live auction begin at 7pm. Cost is $250 per player (golf fee includes golf, cart, gift, lunch, dinner & beverages – caddy fee not included). $100 for dinner only. Sponsorship opportunities available

Evangelist (1st Century). St Mark wrote the second Gospel largely based on St. Peter’s perspective. Mark
accompanied Saints Paul and Barnabas (Mark’s cousin) on their missionary journey through the island of Cyprus and is credited with founding the Church of Alexandria.

The O.L.S. School Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the school cafeteria on Thursday, April 19th from 8am-6pm; Friday, April 20th from 8am-5pm and on Sunday, April 22nd after all morning Masses. “This is a wonderful opportunity to buy great books for your children and get a head start on summer reading lists, as well as to raise money for O.L.S. School.” Students will be outside church after all Masses this weekend collecting for the “All for Books” program. All monies collected will go directly to O.L.S. School to buy new books for the classrooms. In addition, Scholastic will match these donations and donate books to a national organization helping underprivileged children. “This program is a win-win for the school and in supporting literacy.” Over the past 8 years together, as an elementary school and parish over 6,000 books have been given to children in need through the “All for Books” program. Each dollar donation is greatly appreciated.

April 29th after the 12 noon Mass in the community room, as they host Christine Banker, author of the new children's book "We All Have a God Light." The book talks to children about God, His love for us and how we
are all connected by His love. Mrs. Banker will be reading the book to the children and will have her book, nightlights and other accessories available to purchase and sign. For more information about the book please

Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) will hold a 3K (1.8 mile) walk on Saturday, April 28th at Iona Prep (255 Wilmot Rd, New Rochelle). The sessions are facilitated by Sr. Muriel Cooney, O.P. and Chaplain Rosemary Parandelis. “Loss forever changes the world that we have known, but every ending demands a new beginning. For many of us experiencing bereavement that journey seems daunting: How do we get to that place? The healing process of mourning takes time, energy and patience.
