NEW LIFE REVOLUTIONSecond chances, fresh starts, novel opportunities -there's no doubt that peoplethe world over love things new. We prize new possessions, memorialize newmatrimony, and laud new life. Just look at the auto industry: new cars dropdramatically in value just about as soon as they are driven off the lot, perfectlydemonstrating where we place value.

Therefore it makes perfect sense that with a new year, hope arises again in thehearts of the people. Past failures trained us to live in failure, even to feeldestined for failure. Suddenly, though, with January 1st, we feel that failurescan be forgiven. Records can be reset and yesterday's wrongs can be made rightoday. Somehow we feel renewed with the New Year. We feel that this time wecan surely do things differently.

In all the excitement of January, however, in the dazzle of a dozen freshmonths, and a million renewed hopes, please remember the message that shinesbrighter than a crisp calendar page ever could. It is the message of eternalnewness and it is the privilege of the born-again. (Just think of that term!)

Lets listen in on the Apostle Paul as he describes it. For which cause we faintnot; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward [man] is renewed dayby day. (2 Cor. 4:16). And again, If any man be in Christ he is a newcreature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2Cor. 5:17). We are given a perpetual newness. There is no need to wait for anew year, a new month, or even a new day: in Christ we are new right now!Christian, dont let your past beat you up: in Christ, the cross is the only pastthat matters. This year dont settle for a New Years Resolution; instead, live aNew Life Revolution.

A Daniel Fast is not doing away withfood altogether, (so if you never beforegot excited about a call to fast, this isyour big opportunity!) but it is a timeof regulating our bodies to eat the wayDaniel did, a way which honors theWord of God, while praying for theLords guidance in the coming year.For 21 days in the month of January,we are asking you to participate in thisgloriously liberating endeavor. For afew weeks give up some of the foods

we all know we should not be eatinganyway, take extra time for prayer, and just see what results awake. Moreinformation is available at the churchWelcome Center.

Youth NewsThe Kingdom RAZERs (ages 10-18)had an awesome night at the NewYears Eve Campout. This month theywill be having a Bowling Night atClermont Lanes (tentative date isThursday, January 20th). The youth band is also starting to practice somenew songs to perform in church.

A Look Back at December

Voices of Praise Choir Due to the awesome response to our Christmas Musical, we will be making the choir apart of our Sunday morning services. Weekly choir practices are on Wednesday evenings at 08:00 PM.

Empowered MenLast month, Rev. Eric Lewis challenged the men of Praise Temple toresist the 'self love' problem Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 3:2. Insteadwe should become united in true Christian fellowship, not a potluckdinner after Sunday service, but a lifestyle of living for one another.The men are planning a yard sale and a community hot chocolategive away to raise awareness about our church. The next EmpoweredMen's meeting will take place on Thursday, January 6th @ 7:00 p.m.

Women of PraiseIn December the Women of Praise were encouraged to continue

building even in adversity. Sister Algretta Beason taught using the book of Nehemiah. We must not grow weary in well doing; weshould press on. The next Women of Praise meeting will be onThursday, January 6th @ 07:00 PM

Yard Sale FundraiserSister Nadeene King helped us receive donations of brand newclothing for the upcoming yard sale. Seamstresses are needed tomake minor repairs (fixing zippers, buttons, etc.). If you can helpwith this, please see Sister King. The yard sale is scheduled for
