THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVETake a journey through the epistle of First John and you are sure to concluthat its writer was uncompromisingly serious about the supreme importancelove in the life of the redeemed. Without exception, without doubt, love is tabsolute, quintessential quality in the life of any believer. It is the penultima proof of the born-again experience and the most visible demonstrationdivine life interacting with our own.

If we are honest with ourselves, walking in love is the one place many of fail all too often. When we take offense instead of taking it to Jesus. When w

are controlled by anger, instead of controlling it (whether that anger wjustified or not). When we assume the worst instead of believing the beWhen we keep a record of wrongs. When we give up on someone who is ncoming along quickly enough for our personal liking. In all these ways anmany, many more and with any number of people God has brought our waour love too often fails.

Tough message? You bet it is. John says something astounding in chaptfour, something that while it does not exactly let us off the hook, it definiteshifts the focus off of us. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. (I John 4:10)

Did you hear that? In the midst of an epistle that repeatedly insists upon thnecessity of love in the life of the believer, John offers us this beautifucaveat. In the end it is not our love that makes the difference: it is his. Oulove must originate in his, operate from his, and overcome by his. When wtry to love by effort we have already failed. When we try to produce love ouof a personal have-to we wind up with something far. Like all things worthaving, love must be an act of the grace of God. When we inhale the love oHeaven and exhale it back to those around us, we discover what loving reallis.

your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do

this we find one of the great secrets. When you are

behaving as if you loved someone you will

Women ofPraiseThe Women of Praise have a secret...or at least theirgoing to. Be sure to attend the monthly meeting thisThursday, Feb. 3rd for details about Secret Sisters, aprogram sure to keep you guessing. By the way, whatdoes the 13th letter of the alphabet, a sweet tooth, andthe U.S. 25 cent piece have in common? Anotheropportunity to give to the Kingdom! The Women ofPraise will fill mini M&M tubes with quarters to produce $10 offerings every time one is completed.

Well, here at Praise Temple get ready,

because, Sunday February 20th is Ladies

Morning. The women of our church will

be taking over the proceedings that day

to bring you an anointed dose of the

Holy Ghost. We look forward to

experiencing God as expressed

by the hearts of the ladies.

Women of Praise Fellowship Breakfast

The fight is fixed. No matter how

many punches are thrown, no matter

how many knock-downs there are.

The end result is already in our favor.

Through Christ we have the victory!
